[00:00] How do we go full-time on YouTube? Well,
[00:03] in this session, we’re going to cover a
[00:04] couple things together. The first is
[00:05] going to be there’s actually five stages
[00:08] of YouTube growth. This is what I was
[00:09] getting at. You actually deserve to know
[00:12] as a serious creator where you stand.
[00:15] And by the time you leave this, before
[00:17] we even get into Q&A, you’re going to
[00:19] know where you stand. And not only that,
[00:21] because I’m a coach, I’m I was a coach
[00:22] first and foremost YouTube strategist
[00:24] for a while. I can’t help but put
[00:26] something together like this without
[00:28] giving you homework.
[00:29] >> [laughter]
[00:30] >> So, you’re going to know what stage
[00:31] you’re in and you’re also going to know
[00:32] the next best thing you could actually
[00:34] go do because of our time together. I
[00:36] don’t just want to talk at you. I want
[00:37] to walk with you. And this is the
[00:39] missionritical thing that we’re going to
[00:40] go through together today. And along the
[00:42] journey, we’re going to go through the
[00:43] reason why most creators plateau. We’re
[00:45] going to talk about how you can grow
[00:47] faster even in a changing YouTube
[00:48] landscape. Like, no joke. We’re not
[00:50] going to sit here and pretend like
[00:51] YouTube’s the same as it’s always been.
[00:53] Things have changed. So, we’re going to
[00:54] talk about how to n how to navigate it.
[00:56] We’re also going to talk about what what
[00:58] are smart creators doing with stuff like
[00:59] AI, which spoiler alert uh can often do
[01:02] a lot more harm than good, though it has
[01:04] its place. It’s a great tool. And then
[01:06] of course, we want to talk about what a
[01:08] system looks like to produce a 10K a
[01:10] month YouTube business. So, and just to
[01:13] let you know, like my entire goal today
[01:14] is to save you quite literally years of
[01:17] painful YouTube mistakes so fast so you
[01:19] know who you’re getting some information
[01:20] from today. If we’ve never met, I’m
[01:22] Nathan Eswine. And honestly, like I
[01:24] actually am just a kindred spirit. If
[01:26] you are a creator of any kind on this
[01:28] platform, you and I have a lot in common
[01:29] because before I was here at Think
[01:31] Media, before I was a YouTube coach and
[01:34] strategist, I was just like this dude
[01:35] who made YouTube videos and kind of
[01:37] turned it into a business. And so I
[01:39] actually walked the talk that I’m going
[01:41] to be going through today. And it’s so
[01:42] cool because that journey enabled me to
[01:44] do the same thing for other people where
[01:46] I transitioned from having my own
[01:47] YouTube business to being a YouTube
[01:49] coach and actually even full circle now
[01:51] content creator here at Think Media. I’m
[01:53] the co-host of our podcast and a content
[01:55] creator on our main channel. And so I
[01:57] just love that there’s there’s a lot of
[01:59] perspectives that I hope I get to bring
[02:02] to the table in order to help you not
[02:04] only as a fellow creator, but as a
[02:06] strategist who’s helped hundreds of
[02:08] creators do it at this point. So, here’s
[02:09] some cool news. In case you didn’t know,
[02:11] why YouTube does it even still matter?
[02:13] Should I even pursue it? You could be in
[02:15] the middle of burnout right now. And I
[02:17] just want to encourage you right off the
[02:18] bat. YouTube is still alive and well. No
[02:20] matter what you’re hearing, no matter
[02:22] what news articles you’re hearing or
[02:23] things you could hear other creators
[02:25] talking about, I just want to equip you
[02:26] with some facts so fast before we jump
[02:28] in. YouTube has paid creators hundred
[02:32] billion dollars in the last four years.
[02:34] That’s like billion with a B. Okay,
[02:37] here’s another cool thing. This creator
[02:39] economy, this is the industry that you
[02:41] and I are both in is pro is projected to
[02:45] 4x 2032. So that’s reaching over eight
[02:48] nearly 850 billion dollars worldwide.
[02:51] So we're at the really really still at
[02:54] the beginning of this whole creator
[02:57] economy. I can make videos and make
[02:59] money and let that be my job sort of
[03:01] lifestyle.
[03:02] It is alive and well and we're honestly
[03:04] still at the beginning of it. So, while
[03:06] it's never been a better time to be a
[03:07] creator, it's also never been noisier.
[03:11] Here's some other stats that may not be
[03:12] as encouraging, but you deserve to. You
[03:15] deserve the truth. On average, there are
[03:17] over 20 million YouTube videos uploaded
[03:20] daily. So, before you click off,
[03:22] [laughter]
[03:23] before I just lost you, hang with me for
[03:25] a second. Here's the noise. Just let
[03:29] that sink in. This is like what? We've
[03:30] been live for a few minutes, several
[03:32] minutes now, eight minutes. That I don't
[03:34] even know. That's like thousands of
[03:35] YouTube videos that have been uploaded
[03:36] since you and I were just hanging out
[03:38] here. Like my goodness, right? This is
[03:41] why today's class is so important
[03:43] because the how do you stand out in in a
[03:45] noisy crowd? How do you stand out
[03:47] against 20 million whatever uploads?
[03:50] We can bring everything back down to a
[03:52] level of sanity when we work through
[03:55] anything in life in stages. Start here,
[03:58] then move here. Start here, then move
[04:00] here. And that's actually what we've
[04:02] discovered here at Think Media after
[04:04] working with tens of thousands of
[04:05] creators, amassing over 30 billion views
[04:08] between our the way that we're working
[04:09] with them with our YouTube strategies.
[04:10] Like this stuff works. And so we have a
[04:12] lot of data to pull from to be like,
[04:13] "Oh, hey, there's like five things that
[04:15] people go through on their journey from
[04:18] nothing to having a successful,
[04:21] sustainable YouTube business." And
[04:23] there's there's five there's five stages
[04:25] through that. And so as we jump into
[04:27] these, the big thing we've unlocked
[04:28] here, and this again might sound a
[04:30] little Hallmark Cardish, but stick with
[04:32] me. The real barrier isn't necess isn't
[04:34] necessarily the algorithm.
[04:36] It's actually our identity. And by
[04:38] identity, I just mean like knowing where
[04:39] you stand. It's actually just like where
[04:41] you are right now with your experience
[04:44] level with YouTube, with your skill set,
[04:46] with the things you have left to learn.
[04:47] The tactics matter. And my friend,
[04:49] you're going to get them. Like I said,
[04:50] like you're gonna have homework today,
[04:51] actual tactics for each stage. But I
[04:54] just want to encourage you. It's the
[04:55] identity that actually unlocks the next
[04:57] stage. A lot of us are stuck on YouTube
[05:00] simply because we're taking on way too
[05:03] advanced strategies and tactics for our
[05:06] actual stage and we're missing the mark.
[05:08] We're spending a lot of our time
[05:10] spinning our wheels because we're not
[05:11] ready for that strategy yet when we
[05:13] should be doing this one. Or you could
[05:15] flip it. You could be more of a veteran
[05:16] on the platform right now and you might
[05:18] feel a little bit stuck because guess
[05:19] what? It's time to take off the training
[05:21] wheels. What are you doing messing
[05:23] around with these basic strategies? You
[05:24] do need the advanced stuff. But how do
[05:26] you know? What do you need? How do you
[05:28] know what you need to know? Right? This
[05:30] is why you need to know what stage
[05:31] you're in. So, we're going to start
[05:32] right off the bat. And there are five
[05:33] stages, but to be clear, there's a stage
[05:35] zero. Uh, and a stage zero is just
[05:38] called a consumer.
[05:40] Stage zero means you haven't created
[05:42] anything yet. Okay? There's no money
[05:44] being made per month because of content
[05:46] you're creating because you're not
[05:47] making any content. And this is where
[05:48] everybody starts. At stage zero, you're
[05:51] just consuming more than you're
[05:52] creating. And your biggest roadblock at
[05:55] this stage, the absolute biggest thing
[05:58] standing in your way is just starting.
[06:01] And I say just starting with some
[06:03] empathy because I understand uh how
[06:05] packed of a sentence that can be. There
[06:07] can be a lot of imposttor syndrome.
[06:08] There can be a lot of fear. There can be
[06:09] a lot of doubt. There can just be a lot
[06:10] of nervousness. There can be just a lack
[06:12] of knowledge. What even how do I even do
[06:14] that, Nathan? Like what camera do I
[06:16] need? You know what I like you I
[06:18] understand that's a packed sentence but
[06:20] it's base level stage zero you're the
[06:23] biggest and best thing you could
[06:24] possibly do is post a video. So here's
[06:26] actually what you would need to go do if
[06:28] you are in stage zero and I actually
[06:30] don't want you to overthink it because
[06:33] the way you get from stage zero
[06:35] to stage one in actually getting on the
[06:37] map is just posting a video. Just post a
[06:40] freaking video. So here's actually what
[06:41] you can do. Literally grab your phone,
[06:44] your phone that you already probably use
[06:45] a whole bunch. you're already familiar
[06:47] with it. Film yourself
[06:49] answering just like the number one
[06:51] question people already ask you or ask
[06:54] in general in your area of interest.
[06:56] Here's the big thing, and I'm coming in
[06:58] hot and heavy because like I I care
[07:00] about you. I don't buy I don't buy the
[07:03] fact that you don't know what you would
[07:06] do on YouTube.
[07:08] I've heard this so many times. I don't
[07:10] believe you. I'm so sorry. Like, and
[07:11] we're just getting to know each other.
[07:12] Geez, Nathan, hang with me. When I hear
[07:15] someone say, "I don't know what I would
[07:16] do on YouTube." I'm like, "Of course you
[07:18] know what you would do on YouTube." You
[07:20] know, you have ideas for what you would
[07:21] make. You have glimp glimpses and
[07:24] visions in your head of you doing
[07:26] something on the platform. Yes, you
[07:28] know, you know the kinds of things you
[07:29] would post. The trouble is for a lot of
[07:32] us not being able to nail it down. So,
[07:36] you have a lot of ideas. There's a lot
[07:37] of niches you could potentially
[07:39] potentially choose. The struggle is
[07:41] picking one and getting started. And
[07:43] that's actually the trick is to just
[07:45] pick one and get started. Go with your
[07:47] gut where when when I'm talking right
[07:49] now, what's the thing that you feel is
[07:51] like coming up to the surface where
[07:52] you're like, "Yeah, I should probably
[07:53] just go do that." Go do that. Get out of
[07:55] stage zero because now we're getting
[07:57] actually closer. Guess what? I can't
[07:59] talk YouTube strategy right now.
[08:02] It's literally a waste of your time and
[08:04] my time for me to sit here and talk to
[08:06] you at stage zero about the best
[08:08] tactics, tips for thumbnails, titles,
[08:10] hooks, how to keep people on your
[08:11] videos, how to increase session time for
[08:12] the algorithm. Like, it's doing nothing
[08:16] because you haven't posted anything. So,
[08:17] go post something so we can get nerdier.
[08:19] Okay? Your win here is to post the first
[08:20] video. It's the highest return move you
[08:22] will ever do. You'll ever do in the
[08:25] whole YouTube journey because it's the
[08:26] catalyst. It's the thing that kicks
[08:28] things off. But once you've actually
[08:30] posted your video,
[08:32] now you're in stage one. Okay, now
[08:34] you're in stage one. And let's talk
[08:36] about stage one here, uh, really quick.
[08:39] Stage one is you're a creator. Now you
[08:41] have published a video. That is the
[08:43] barrier to entry. And now once you're at
[08:45] this point, you are officially creator.
[08:47] Who's here? If you're here, I want like
[08:48] drop it in the chat. And by the way, I
[08:50] see this number ticking up as we're
[08:52] hanging out together. Um, hey, what's
[08:53] going on? I'm Nathan Ewin, one of the
[08:55] coaches and content creators here at
[08:56] Think Media. Uh, I'm just ready to nerd
[08:59] out with you about all things YouTube.
[09:00] We have one of our teammates, Logan,
[09:02] here, too. I'm just going through some
[09:03] teaching right now about like how to
[09:05] know where you stand in this whole
[09:06] YouTube thing so you can actually like
[09:08] learn how to go full-time and actually
[09:09] put together a plan that'll work. So,
[09:11] that's cool. You should hang out because
[09:13] in just a little bit, we're going to be
[09:14] going through some Q&A. And so, all
[09:16] throughout our time together, please
[09:17] drop questions um in the chat. Literally
[09:20] in the chat, drop some questions. our
[09:22] team's going to be saving them and we're
[09:23] going to be answering as many as humanly
[09:25] possible uh after we get through the
[09:28] teaching here. So, so pumped you're
[09:29] here. But hey, stage one is creator.
[09:30] You've published a video. Congrats.
[09:32] You're officially a creator. Here's the
[09:33] thing, though.
[09:35] Your biggest roadblock is going to be
[09:37] inconsistency. And if uh if you're
[09:40] resonating, let me know. The this is the
[09:43] toughest thing to get from stage one to
[09:45] stage two. You've you have to crack this
[09:48] code. like you have to learn how to get
[09:50] consistent. Most
[09:53] uh YouTube creators quit between videos
[09:58] 20 and 50. I think the like this the
[10:00] most consistent stat that we've been
[10:02] able to find is like uh most people
[10:04] don't make it to their 23rd upload.
[10:08] Their 23rd upload.
[10:10] Okay. So, it's kind of like what well
[10:12] this is helpful I hope because I'm
[10:13] actually giving you some numbers here.
[10:15] It's like okay well how do I move
[10:16] through this stage? Well, the first
[10:17] thing is to get consistent and you need
[10:20] to you need to try to put yourself into
[10:22] a position slowly but surely where you
[10:25] can just execute
[10:27] the I hope that it gets a little bit
[10:29] more simple all of the sudden because
[10:31] again we aren't really nerding out
[10:33] nerding out about YouTube strategy. You
[10:35] don't need that at this stage. The
[10:37] muscle you need to develop is like
[10:39] identity man. It's like, yeah, I am a
[10:42] content creator because every week I
[10:43] research and post a video. And you just
[10:45] kind of even though even if you're not
[10:46] doing it the most efficient way, the
[10:48] best way, the perfect way, who cares?
[10:51] That's not even it's not even time for
[10:52] that yet. You just have to post
[10:54] consistently because you have to start
[10:56] to develop the muscle of press record,
[10:59] press publish button, press record,
[11:02] press publish button. That's your mantra
[11:05] through at least 20 videos in this
[11:07] stage. Um, and actually this is what you
[11:09] should go do if you're like, "Okay,
[11:10] cool. How would I actually go live this
[11:12] out, Nathan? Ready? Let me coach you
[11:13] one-on-one. I'm going to tell you the
[11:14] exact video strategy you should use to
[11:17] get consistent in stage one as a
[11:19] creator." I want you to run the ASQ
[11:22] strategy. ASQ
[11:26] answer specific
[11:29] questions.
[11:31] Answer specific questions. All right.
[11:35] What am I talking about?
[11:37] In your niche,
[11:41] there are undoubtedly a whole bunch of
[11:42] questions that people have,
[11:45] right? You could be in gardening, what
[11:46] are the questions people have? You could
[11:48] be in uh, you know, content creation.
[11:50] Hey, what are the questions people have?
[11:51] You could be in sourdough baking. What
[11:54] are the questions people have? Right?
[11:55] You could be whatever your niche is.
[11:57] There are specific questions that people
[12:00] from people who are dipping their toes
[12:02] into your niche. And a lot of us are on
[12:03] YouTube trying to create content or
[12:05] envision some sort of online business
[12:07] around something that we've already gone
[12:10] through.
[12:11] A lot of us are on YouTube trying to
[12:13] help younger versions of ourselves who
[12:15] haven't quite figured it out yet, right?
[12:17] What are the specific questions? And so
[12:19] here's actually what you should do right
[12:21] now is you should actually go to Google
[12:23] or go to the YouTube search bar and
[12:26] literally start typing in questions
[12:28] about your niche. You you would know
[12:30] these. You're in your niche. Think about
[12:31] it. Okay, you can even use an AI tool.
[12:33] This is a great example of a use case
[12:35] for AI. ChatGpt, Gemini, Claude,
[12:38] whatever you rock and roll. Pull up a
[12:40] chat thread, even on the free version,
[12:42] and literally say, "Hey, I'm thinking
[12:44] about starting a YouTube channel. This
[12:47] is the niche that I want to create in. I
[12:49] want to make videos about helping people
[12:51] make sourdough bread." [laughter]
[12:54] What are the most common questions
[12:55] people have? It just did your research
[12:57] for you. Now you have no excuses because
[12:59] there's like 17 video ideas and your job
[13:03] is to answer every single one of them.
[13:05] At least the top Huh? At least the top
[13:07] 20 23 of those questions. Just answer
[13:11] questions, friend. Stop over
[13:13] complicating it. Stop overthinking it.
[13:15] Sure, get a little better with every
[13:17] video. Learn a new thumbnail thing.
[13:18] Learn a new title thing. That's not the
[13:20] point of the stage. The point of the
[13:21] stage is to build the muscle of being a
[13:24] creator. And what does a creator do? A
[13:26] creator shows up to serve. A creator
[13:29] shows up to serve. And service can look
[13:31] like uh education. How to fix your
[13:35] sourdough starter. I don't know why I'm
[13:36] riffing off the sourdough thing, but it
[13:38] can also look like entertainment,
[13:40] right? That is service. So, whatever
[13:42] niche you're in, education,
[13:43] entertainment, whatever it is, there are
[13:45] specific ways that the people you're
[13:47] trying to reach would love for you to
[13:48] reach them. and answering specific
[13:51] questions is an incredible way to start
[13:53] because it gives you almost endless
[13:54] content ideas and because quite frankly
[13:58] they can be quick videos. A lot of
[14:01] specific questions can be answered
[14:02] pretty concisely in nature which is a
[14:04] great thing for you as someone at the
[14:05] creator stage where you're just trying
[14:06] to get your phone, answer a question,
[14:09] publish it, move on, get get another
[14:11] question, film it, move on. Maybe you
[14:13] upgrade your camera, maybe you get a
[14:15] cool little microphone that attaches. It
[14:17] doesn't matter. That's not the thing
[14:18] that matters at this stage. The thing
[14:19] that matters is posting consistently.
[14:21] And I think answering specific questions
[14:23] is the most tactical thing I could give
[14:24] you to go do that. So remember that's
[14:28] the win here. How do you move from stage
[14:30] one being a creator to stage two? Well,
[14:33] you just kind of kept going. [laughter]
[14:36] You like you actually went for it. You
[14:38] kept moving when you could have stopped.
[14:40] You were the person that didn't quit.
[14:41] And because of that, you're able to move
[14:43] on to stage two. My favorite example of
[14:46] someone in stage one who who graduated
[14:48] to stage one to be honest actually for
[14:49] she went from zero to one. This is one
[14:51] of our students recently just of several
[14:53] months ago went through kind of this
[14:54] cohort thing where we were helping
[14:56] people make YouTube videos. This is
[14:58] Sherry. She's 77 years old. She had no
[15:01] equipment, no social media, no prior
[15:02] experience. She said it was cool to
[15:04] share that she was actually living in a
[15:06] homeless shelter
[15:09] filming on her iPhone in a public
[15:11] library. So, I'm just kind of like
[15:14] Sherry's my role model and I want to be
[15:16] like Sherry when I grow up. Are you
[15:17] kidding me? What? There's no excuses
[15:19] left on the on the table. Age, time,
[15:23] resources. Well, here's Sherry. And you
[15:24] know the cool thing about Sherry is her
[15:26] first video went I would say viral. I
[15:29] would actually call 37,000 views for
[15:31] your first video in four weeks viral.
[15:32] Like her first video did this over 500
[15:35] comments in 30 days. And um this video
[15:39] got her monetized
[15:41] now. Now, to be to be clear, like
[15:43] results are not typical. Not not
[15:45] everyone's going to go post a video like
[15:46] this and have it do this for your first
[15:47] one. But that's not what I'm trying to
[15:49] say. The point is that she grabbed her
[15:51] phone and filmed something. And she
[15:54] picked something, a topic that she could
[15:56] talk about that meant something to her.
[15:57] So, she was just talking about something
[15:58] that's on her heart. Losing her dog at
[16:01] the age she was at gave her new purpose.
[16:03] I'd encourage you to go watch the video.
[16:04] You'll be blown away. You'll be like,
[16:05] "Wow, if she can do it, I can do it."
[16:08] Here's one more stat that you should
[16:09] know. Let's get nerdy for a second.
[16:10] Okay. tactics. Have you seen this in
[16:12] your YouTube channel before? Anybody?
[16:16] Let me know. Let me know. I don't know
[16:18] if you paid attention to this. This is
[16:19] pretty important though. You you if you
[16:20] know YouTube speaks to you. YouTube
[16:23] speaks to you all around YouTube Studio.
[16:27] This is the audience by watch behavior
[16:29] chart. And this is data about new
[16:31] viewers, casual viewers, and regular
[16:33] viewers. This is about how people
[16:34] interact with your content and how often
[16:36] they return to your content. Why does
[16:38] this matter, Nathan? Just so we're on
[16:40] the same page, new viewers mean this is
[16:42] people that would watch your channel for
[16:43] the first time. Casual viewers would be
[16:45] people that have watched your channel up
[16:47] to five months. Up to five months in the
[16:50] last rolling year. Regular viewers
[16:53] watched your channel in six or more
[16:55] months. So, it's the flip of the casual
[16:56] viewers over the past year. Why am I
[16:59] saying this?
[17:01] There's a timeline here.
[17:04] when you're moving from stage one to
[17:05] stage two, like it's kind of like
[17:07] there's this sixmonth marker. Why?
[17:10] Because you can't even have
[17:13] regular viewers. You can't even have the
[17:15] stat available until you've had enough
[17:19] content on your channel or have an
[17:21] active enough channel over a six-month
[17:22] time period. So, to be clear, this is
[17:24] not saying this is a direct correlation
[17:26] to your upload schedule. This is just a
[17:28] correlation between like time of channel
[17:31] activity. For people to become regular,
[17:34] you've had to have stuff going on for
[17:36] like six months, you know, for for even
[17:38] people to be casual. That's like up to
[17:40] five months. What I'm trying to say is
[17:42] I'd love to tell you you're going to
[17:43] blow up overnight and sometimes it
[17:45] happens. I just shared Sherry with you.
[17:48] Most of the time it's not like that.
[17:50] Most of the time you do need a six-month
[17:52] plan. That's why we're talking today
[17:53] because there's this six-month language
[17:56] that I think you just deserve to know.
[17:58] No hype. Nathan, how long before
[18:00] results? Hey, I'd love it. And I think
[18:02] it could happen sooner because I see it
[18:03] happen sooner. Just depends on a lot of
[18:05] factors. So, I'd feel more like a
[18:07] responsible coach out here in this
[18:08] insane world of people giving you advice
[18:10] about how to do YouTube and content and
[18:12] everything. Six months, man. Six months.
[18:16] Like, just let that be your headsp
[18:17] space. Six months. Stage one moving,
[18:20] stage two, whatever. Like if you're
[18:22] actually starting from scratch, your
[18:24] six-month plan
[18:26] is to start and be consistent. And if
[18:29] you've done that, you've actually beaten
[18:32] a ridiculous percentage of people who
[18:34] never made it past. Cool. We rocking?
[18:37] Are we rolling? Are we getting nerdy?
[18:39] Okay, stage two. Momentum maker. I'd
[18:42] love to know if you're here right now. I
[18:43] bet I bet some of you we have a good
[18:44] number that are here. Momentum maker is
[18:46] stage two. How do you know you've
[18:49] graduated to get to stage two? You've
[18:51] earned your first dollar online. Just
[18:53] like you graduated into stage one by
[18:55] publishing your first video, you
[18:57] graduate to stage two by making your
[18:59] first dollar. I don't We had someone in
[19:01] our community, Logan, you might have
[19:02] seen this. I just saw it the other
[19:03] night. Someone in our community was
[19:05] celebrating 20 cents from somewhere. I
[19:07] forget. It might have been an affiliate
[19:09] link or maybe it was like YouTube
[19:10] partner program, but like it was 20
[19:12] cents. And one of our students was like,
[19:14] "Is this is this cool?" And the number
[19:17] of people that jumped in were like,
[19:18] "Heck yeah." Like, "Yes, this is cool.
[19:21] You just made like, okay, it's 20
[19:23] cents." Yeah, barely can do anything
[19:25] with that. But it doesn't matter about
[19:26] what you could go redeem it for. What
[19:28] matters is it worked. It because I
[19:31] posted a video in the ridiculous wide
[19:34] open space of the internet.
[19:36] Money came back to me. You know, it's
[19:39] like it's a really big deal. It doesn't
[19:40] matter how much you made. So once you've
[19:42] made the first little bits of money
[19:45] because you're making YouTube videos,
[19:47] you've graduated into stage two,
[19:48] momentum maker stage. Okay, this stage
[19:52] financially, you'd know you're here if
[19:53] you're hovering between, you know, your
[19:55] first dollar, but call it like somewhat
[19:57] of a consistent 100 to 1,000
[20:00] a monthish. I know it's a pretty broad
[20:02] range, which is what we've just what we
[20:03] found because there's a lot of different
[20:05] monetization models out there. But
[20:07] you're here because you are you've
[20:09] earned your first dollar and you are
[20:11] consistent now
[20:13] like to get to this point to where
[20:16] you've got some sort of income stream
[20:17] happening that's associated with your
[20:19] videos. You've been consistent and
[20:20] you've been learning things and it's
[20:22] been paying off. But the biggest
[20:25] roadblock for you is actually ready
[20:27] packaging.
[20:29] And packaging is just it's like the
[20:32] nerdy insider language uh for your title
[20:35] and thumbnail. And I'd also argue your
[20:37] idea and your hook. We can talk about
[20:39] that in Q&A if you want to. But your
[20:41] title and your thumbnail, the way the
[20:43] the biggest roadblock in the momentum
[20:45] maker stage, stage two here, is you're
[20:47] starting to make just a little bit of
[20:48] money, which is so cool,
[20:51] but you have yet you have yet to hone
[20:53] the skill of being a content creator.
[20:55] And on the platform of YouTube
[20:57] especially, it's about it's all about
[20:59] packaging. It's all about getting
[21:01] someone to choose you, clicking on you.
[21:04] And the way people click on you is by
[21:07] how you're presenting an idea. Here we
[21:09] go. A coaching moment. This is the
[21:10] biggest thing. Like if you were to take
[21:12] something away and you're in this stage,
[21:13] you've got to understand this.
[21:16] We are in a war of ideas on the
[21:19] platform. 20 million uploads a day.
[21:21] Remember that stat from the beginning.
[21:23] How do you stand out? You have to be
[21:25] someone that becomes a student of
[21:26] packaging. And that just means here's
[21:29] the shortcut. How do I get better titles
[21:31] and thumbnails? For just a second, put
[21:35] aside me, Think Media. Put aside fill in
[21:39] the blank YouTube strategist, coach,
[21:41] teacher name.
[21:43] And just think about your audience. This
[21:46] is the greatest hack for getting better
[21:47] at titles and thumbnails. You're not
[21:49] trying to reach everybody, are you?
[21:50] You're just trying to reach a few
[21:52] specific people in this little niche
[21:54] that you've chosen. And all you need to
[21:57] try to think about is what they would
[21:59] choose, not what everybody would choose.
[22:01] This is why it makes no sense to me. If
[22:03] you are the sourdough education channel,
[22:05] why are you out here trying to copy Mr.
[22:06] Beast thumbnails? Why are you listening
[22:08] to Mr. Beast's YouTube strategist with
[22:10] the It's like completely you. Who cares?
[22:13] You're It's completely different
[22:14] content, completely different audience.
[22:16] You're trying to reach the person that's
[22:19] trying to learn how to do that. They
[22:20] just tasted bread for the first time at
[22:22] their friends. They're like, "Oh my
[22:22] goodness, you made that?" They're like,
[22:23] "Yeah, I made it myself." And they're
[22:24] like, "What? How did you even know it
[22:26] was this? It's easier than you thought.
[22:27] You just need X, Y, and Z. They start to
[22:29] go search and find you. What are they
[22:30] going to click on? They're going to
[22:33] click on how you title your video in the
[22:35] image that you put with it. [laughter]
[22:38] Like, I'm trying to break it real down.
[22:40] So, the idea that you have for a video,
[22:42] it's on your responsibility to get
[22:44] better at it by getting way more in tune
[22:46] with who you're trying to reach. Who is
[22:47] your audience? Who is the ideal person
[22:49] that's going to click on your video?
[22:50] Because that's the only click you need.
[22:52] Then once you crack that, you can stop
[22:55] comparing yourself to other niches. Not
[22:56] that we can't learn anything from them.
[22:58] Not that we couldn't learn anything from
[22:59] Mr. Beast or his YouTube strategist.
[23:01] It's just being able to filter
[23:02] everything through. No, how do I get
[23:04] better at my titles and thumbnails for
[23:06] my audience? That's the strategy you
[23:09] need here at the momentum maker stage.
[23:12] So, here's what you should go do. Here's
[23:13] your homework. I actually highly
[23:15] encourage you, you can do this right
[23:16] after we get off this uh after hanging
[23:18] out today. You need to learn how to
[23:20] research better. Learn how to research
[23:24] better. Don't just rush off and press
[23:26] record on your next few videos. If
[23:28] you're in this stage, that's the energy
[23:30] that you need for stage zero, stage one.
[23:33] I need you to be intense. I just need
[23:35] you to press record, be messy, and go
[23:37] for it. Once we get to stage two, it's
[23:40] less about intensity, and it's a lot
[23:42] more about intentionality, which means
[23:44] we start to slow down just a little bit.
[23:46] we build in some buffer time to actually
[23:50] be able to do some research properly.
[23:52] So, I need you to start studying outlier
[23:55] videos. This is a nerdy term you should
[23:57] you have to get familiar with if you
[23:59] want to uh you know do the sport of
[24:01] YouTube, so to speak. Outlier just means
[24:04] it's a video that did better than
[24:07] normal. It's all it is. And you might
[24:09] have seen these scores around YouTube.
[24:11] If you're in this stage, you might have
[24:12] a tool like Vid IQ or a one of 10 or
[24:15] like TubeBuddy. There's different tools
[24:17] that give you different things. But if
[24:19] you have these tools installed, when
[24:21] you're searching for videos on YouTube,
[24:23] you can see these little bubbles that
[24:25] pop up that have like a number inside
[24:27] them. Could be like 54x, 27x,
[24:31] 1.4x.
[24:33] That just means that's how many times
[24:36] better this video did for that channel's
[24:40] baseline at that time period. Man, we're
[24:42] in the weeds. Are you still with me?
[24:44] Come on. This is what you signed up for,
[24:45] right? So, if you see like a outlier
[24:48] score that says 2.7x,
[24:50] that means that that video that you're
[24:52] looking at right now for that channel
[24:54] did 2.7 times better when it came to
[24:57] views than that channel would typically
[24:59] get by that time period. Why does that
[25:03] matter? Because this is going to help
[25:04] you start studying what actually works
[25:07] in your niche and not just relying on
[25:09] your gut hunches, not not and not
[25:12] accidentally studying underperformers.
[25:15] So, when you're looking at outlier
[25:17] videos and you're learn you're able to
[25:19] find, okay, when I'm doing research,
[25:21] here's another quick way to do it, too.
[25:22] before there was ever an outlier score.
[25:24] And uh at least a safe way to do this is
[25:28] like, okay, when you're researching,
[25:30] sorry y'all, I'm just going to be
[25:31] riffing off the sourdough person. Shout
[25:33] out if you're actually in that niche
[25:34] because wow. Okay. Um you're searching,
[25:37] right? You're going to do another you're
[25:38] going to make a video about how to
[25:40] Forgive me because I don't know the
[25:41] whole thing. How to
[25:44] start your starter. Is that it, Logan? I
[25:46] don't know. She would know better.
[25:47] Whatever. How to do sourdough starter
[25:49] 101. Whatever you need to know. You're
[25:51] going to like look up videos
[25:53] and if you find videos that have a
[25:56] higher view count than the subscriber
[25:58] count, which you can see both of those
[25:59] publicly. You don't need a special tool,
[26:01] just in YouTube search. If you see
[26:02] videos that have a higher view count
[26:03] than subscriber count, that's an outlier
[26:06] video. Even if there's no little bubble
[26:07] next to it, and it's like an extreme,
[26:09] like this is like a pretty heavy filter.
[26:12] It you can totally study videos that
[26:13] have like nine times, five times. Those
[26:15] are important, too. But as you're
[26:17] looking up videos, you can be like,
[26:18] "Huh, subscriber count versus view count
[26:21] for that video." If the view count on
[26:23] the video is higher, something clearly
[26:24] went right there. And what went right
[26:27] there could be about the content. But
[26:29] let's not forget, people don't watch you
[26:32] until they click you. And people don't
[26:35] click you until they see you because
[26:38] it's you, your video pitted up against
[26:42] other options on the platform. So, as
[26:46] you're researching in in here, stage
[26:48] two, it's your job to start to develop
[26:50] this skill. How to identify videos that
[26:52] did better than normal so that you can
[26:55] copy and paste, as one of our team
[26:58] members here would say, which I think he
[27:00] got it from somebody else, but anyway,
[27:02] copy and paste. You don't copy and
[27:03] paste. Be you, be yourself, but just
[27:06] like understand, oh, they did this
[27:08] visual with the starter and the
[27:10] sourdough. Oh, and and there's like text
[27:12] and the text is pretty the text is
[27:14] pretty big and there's just like three
[27:16] words all on the right side. You're just
[27:18] like under what's the patterns here of
[27:20] the videos that do well versus my videos
[27:22] over here that I've been making in stage
[27:24] one and in stage two and how do I like
[27:26] get closer to that and the title they
[27:28] chose. Huh? They're actually like
[27:31] leading with the word sourdough starter
[27:33] and I kept like putting it at the end of
[27:35] my maybe I should flip. You just start
[27:38] to pattern recognize, but you're doing
[27:40] it based off of what has been proven.
[27:43] So, that's homework you can do. You can
[27:45] go do that tonight. You can go do that
[27:46] tomorrow. Whenever your next video is,
[27:48] pump the brakes. Block an extra amount
[27:50] of time on your calendar to simply study
[27:53] proven videos so that you have a higher
[27:57] chance of people choosing your video the
[28:00] next time you publish one. Okay, so the
[28:01] big one here is you've earned that first
[28:03] dollar, which is all too exciting. And I
[28:06] think about someone like Josh Morgan who
[28:08] full disclosure uh he like jumped into
[28:10] our group coaching program Elite and he
[28:13] had a stalled channel and he had no
[28:15] money plan. Here's what's interesting
[28:17] though. You see the view counts on here.
[28:19] These are screenshots of what his
[28:20] channel looked like before we partnered
[28:21] up and were doing some coaching. His
[28:24] subscriber count was 20,000 or 22. It
[28:27] was like 22,000 subscribers or
[28:28] something. But he was getting view
[28:30] counts like this dominantly because he
[28:32] built his subscribers through short form
[28:34] content. YouTube shorts. So, we had to
[28:37] work on like a whole long form strategy.
[28:39] But, nonetheless, big subscri big
[28:41] channel with subscribers but low view
[28:42] counts because making short form
[28:44] vertical content and then long form
[28:46] horizontal content are just they're two
[28:47] different things. They're two different
[28:49] beasts, right? And so, when he came
[28:51] through, the breakthrough that happened
[28:53] to him was two coaching calls. The first
[28:56] group call was really cool. Uh, I
[28:58] remember this vividly because I was the
[28:59] coach on call for that day and we just
[29:03] we literally did the process that I just
[29:04] described. We just came out with a video
[29:07] idea that was better than the kinds of
[29:09] video ideas that he was coming up with
[29:11] before. And if I can like push in a
[29:13] little bit. Um, we came up with a video
[29:15] idea. We came up with an idea with
[29:17] packaging that was better than the
[29:19] packaging he had done before. Because
[29:21] you can have a really great idea and you
[29:23] probably do if you're here right now.
[29:24] I'm sure you have great ideas for
[29:25] videos, especially if you're stage two,
[29:27] moving to stage three, even stage one.
[29:28] You're like, you got ideas for videos.
[29:31] But YouTube is a sport and you can't
[29:33] skip practice. And the gateway to people
[29:36] seeing your awesome video is by clicking
[29:38] you. So, it's not that he had bad ideas.
[29:40] It's not that you have bad ideas. You
[29:41] just simply don't understand how to
[29:43] package a video. And you start by
[29:45] studying what works. And so, what we did
[29:48] was I was like, "Hey, man. Have you ever
[29:49] tried like this reaction style content?"
[29:52] And he was he was like, "No, I don't
[29:54] think so." And so we're like talking
[29:55] about a little bit and we came up with
[29:58] this video idea and you know Josh is in
[30:01] the faith space but he look at that
[30:04] first word that's in the title if you
[30:05] can see it. Steo
[30:07] Steo massive big public figure. Josh
[30:12] made a video tying Steo to his niche
[30:14] about faith-based stuff because he made
[30:16] a comment about heaven and hell or
[30:17] something. in that video. This is I mean
[30:20] that was the fresh screenshot at the
[30:22] time that was within two weeks over
[30:23] 3,000 views and you saw the view counts
[30:25] before 66 10 whatever 29x. Why? Because
[30:29] we studied stuff that worked. I was like
[30:31] hey you should like put what people uh
[30:35] know which is someone like Steo with
[30:38] somebody that people don't know which is
[30:39] Josh which was him. So I was like this
[30:42] was a video idea this was a packaging
[30:44] idea and it worked. The cool thing for
[30:46] him too is after that first call, he
[30:48] came back and his second call, which
[30:50] perfectly transitions us into stage
[30:52] three. We worked on getting him to stage
[30:54] three, really, believe it or not, which
[30:56] was money-m stuff, the whole I make a
[30:59] video and I make money kind of thing.
[31:01] And so what we worked on in his second
[31:03] call, he came back and was like, "Dude,
[31:05] I'm a believer." You know, he was like,
[31:07] "I haven't had views like that in a long
[31:09] time on my long form videos. Okay,
[31:10] what's next?" And I was like, "Okay, we
[31:11] got to start talking about your money
[31:12] plan." If you're going to be getting
[31:13] views like this now, because we're
[31:15] getting better at packaging, we don't
[31:17] just want the views to come and then go
[31:18] out the door, so to speak. We want the
[31:20] views to turn into something, a
[31:23] percentage of the views to turn into
[31:25] something in the form of people
[31:26] exchanging dollars. So, we came up with
[31:28] a money plan and we worked on an
[31:30] affiliate link. He had an affiliate with
[31:32] this Bible study software that we
[31:34] engineered a video around. That video,
[31:36] you can see there, this was 4 days after
[31:38] he had published it. it's over a 100x
[31:42] uh outlier for his channel connected to
[31:44] a money-making activity. So, it's all
[31:46] about at this stage, at this stage, it
[31:48] is about ideas,
[31:50] packaging
[31:52] to in your your stage two momentum
[31:53] maker, ideas, packaging, getting more
[31:56] people to click, getting better at
[31:58] getting more people to click, which
[31:59] transitions us over here into our stage
[32:03] uh three. But this is something that
[32:04] Josh had said. He he he this is why he
[32:06] joined Elite, which is the coaching
[32:07] thing we we did. He said he wanted to
[32:10] build something that could pay for
[32:11] itself and eventually become a real
[32:13] business. And seeing his affiliate
[32:15] income from that last video that we were
[32:16] talking about finally kick in is the
[32:18] first time the vision feels real.
[32:22] This is how you know you're about ready
[32:24] for stage three. You're moving into
[32:25] stage three because stage three is
[32:27] content pro. Stage three is content pro.
[32:31] I wonder if you're here. Let's find out.
[32:34] The money mark financial benchmark is
[32:36] between1 to 3,000.
[32:44] You’re here because your packaging’s
[32:46] been working. [laughter]
[32:47] So views are coming in much more
[32:49] reliably, but your biggest roadblock is
[32:51] still no money plan. Stage three is
[32:56] content pro.
[32:59] Content pro means we start to care a lot
[33:02] more about things that happen after
[33:04] people choose you. You start to get
[33:05] really good at that in stage two. And as
[33:08] more people click you and more people
[33:09] get into your content,
[33:11] those views are going to start to go up.
[33:13] Watch time starts to go up. As a content
[33:15] pro, your job is to try to learn how to
[33:17] take that to the next level. By
[33:19] continuing to do everything, by the way,
[33:22] still studying outliers, you’re still,
[33:24] you know, you’re still trying to study
[33:25] stuff that’s worked. You’re still trying
[33:27] to get better at creating content. Like
[33:28] none of that ever goes away. There’s
[33:29] just like this compounding effect. It’s
[33:31] just here the biggest bottleneck is no
[33:32] money plan.
[33:35] You haven’t built a way to monetize the
[33:37] attention. And I know for me personally,
[33:40] this was the part that I needed the
[33:42] biggest unlock on unlock on. I was like,
[33:46] I understand the whole making a video
[33:47] thing and I understand then people like
[33:49] watch you and I get views, but I know I
[33:52] can’t go to the bank down the street and
[33:54] deposit views. Who goes to the bank down
[33:57] the street anymore? or is that still a
[33:58] thing? I guess I I’m actually all online
[34:00] now anyway. I can’t deposit mobile
[34:02] deposit my views
[34:06] into my bank account, right? So, I was
[34:08] like, how does that whole thing happen?
[34:10] This is where you figure it out. So,
[34:11] here’s what you do. Here’s your homework
[34:12] assignment. If you are resonating right
[34:14] now and you need that, you need your
[34:17] win, the next win that you need in your
[34:19] next couple months, your next six-month
[34:21] plan. If the win that you need is the
[34:23] views you’re getting turn into money in
[34:25] the bank account, here’s what you got to
[34:27] do. You have to develop a money plan.
[34:29] It’s staring you in the face. You have
[34:31] yet to flesh one out or
[34:35] actually establish one that’s working.
[34:38] And you have to start with one. Start
[34:41] with one money plan in every single
[34:45] video. Oh yeah, I said every single
[34:49] video.
[34:50] We can talk about this in Q&A. Please
[34:52] drop a question if you have a question.
[34:54] But Nathan, doesn’t YouTube like it when
[34:56] people stay on platform? Why would I
[34:59] send them off platform? Like if I put a
[35:02] link somewhere, I tell them to go to
[35:04] some URL, like they’re going to leave
[35:05] the platform and then YouTube’s not
[35:07] going to like me. This is stuff I’ve
[35:08] heard before. What is true about that is
[35:11] of course YouTube wants people to stay
[35:13] on platform. There’s this thing called
[35:14] session time which YouTube uses actually
[35:17] to like dictate success of videos which
[35:19] is like oh because someone watched a
[35:21] video what other videos did they watch
[35:24] after that like what was the chain you
[35:26] know this is how like you and I both get
[35:27] into binge sessions and we’re like I am
[35:29] like 12 videos deep and I don’t even
[35:32] know where I started right it’s like
[35:33] that’s called session time I was on the
[35:35] platform when I got onto YouTube on my
[35:37] phone TV laptop whatever I was on it for
[35:40] 45 minutes and I watched three and a
[35:43] half videos. Well, I don’t know,
[35:44] whatever it is, right? Like that’s
[35:45] session time. So, that is a positive
[35:47] viewer signal. If your video can be a
[35:49] video that gets people to stay on
[35:51] platform or especially for your channel,
[35:53] by the way, pro tip appropriate for this
[35:55] stage. If you can make videos that point
[35:58] to other of your own videos and people
[36:01] watch one of your videos and go to
[36:03] another one of your videos because
[36:05] ideally you’ve been strategic because
[36:06] you’re pumping the brakes and not just
[36:08] pressing record right away. You’re
[36:09] putting in some time to research and
[36:11] studying what works and a part of your
[36:13] scripting and outlining process is now,
[36:15] ooh, okay, where can I point people to
[36:18] because of this video I’m about to
[36:19] record. Oh man, I know I’ve got these
[36:21] videos in my catalog so far, I’m doing
[36:24] the starter sourdough thing. Maybe Oh, I
[36:26] have a video about how to store
[36:27] sourdough, you know? Also, I’m like,
[36:28] okay, at the end of my sourdough starter
[36:30] video, I’m like, and by the way, if you
[36:31] want to learn more about how to store
[36:33] sourdough so it stays good twice as
[36:35] long, you got to check out this video
[36:37] they put together all about storing the
[36:39] bread.
[36:41] That was rough because I’m just riffing
[36:43] and I’m not a sourdough expert, but
[36:44] that’s the idea. You start to think like
[36:46] this in this stage. So, yes, it’s true
[36:49] session time matters, but this is where
[36:52] you have to decide.
[36:54] Are you going to be a YouTuber or are
[36:58] you going to be a business owner in a
[37:00] YouTuber’s costume?
[37:03] Goosebumps. Goosebumps. I’m saying it
[37:05] one more time
[37:07] for someone who needs to hear it. You
[37:09] have to decide, are you going to be a
[37:11] YouTuber? meaning I’m going to make all
[37:13] my money on platform with or sorry on
[37:17] platform with the videos that I’m doing
[37:19] with the uh communities I could build
[37:21] super chats I could get all the stuff or
[37:24] am I going to be a business owner in a
[37:26] YouTuber’s costume which is my favorite
[37:28] way to play YouTube and a total spoiler
[37:30] alert to where we’re going this is how
[37:31] you do YouTube the I’m just going to say
[37:33] it because we’re just here and we’re
[37:34] hanging out. That’s how you actually get
[37:36] to 10k a month. That’s how you actually
[37:38] go full-time in six months or less is
[37:40] you start to operate like a business
[37:42] owner who happens to make YouTube
[37:44] videos, not someone who’s trying to be a
[37:46] YouTuber. You go down the wrong paths
[37:48] there. It’s unsustainable. It’s always
[37:49] up and down and you think you have to do
[37:50] a whole bunch of certain things to win.
[37:52] You all because because you do you need
[37:54] a lot of views. You need a lot of
[37:55] memberships. You need a lot of super
[37:56] chats. You need a lot of whatever. If
[37:57] you’re a business owner, you’re thinking
[37:59] about because I posted a YouTube video,
[38:03] what changed?
[38:06] Because I posted a YouTube video,
[38:08] someone clicked on my affiliate link.
[38:10] Oh, that’s cool. That’s a money plan.
[38:12] Because I posted a YouTube video,
[38:15] someone bought a course. I don’t even
[38:17] have a course yet, but like that’s what
[38:19] I want someone to do. Cool. That’s a
[38:20] money plan. Because I posted a video,
[38:23] people bought my book. Cool. Do you
[38:26] already have a book? Yeah, it’s on
[38:27] Amazon. Just sitting there. Gee, why
[38:28] don’t you tell people about it? Right?
[38:29] Like, this is how you make a money plan.
[38:31] Business owner, you’re thinking about
[38:33] income. You’re thinking about getting
[38:35] leads. You’re thinking about making
[38:36] sales
[38:38] in a YouTuber’s costume. I understand
[38:40] that video packaging matters. I
[38:41] understand I need to make a video that’s
[38:43] going to meet a viewer directly where
[38:44] they are. I understand I need to learn
[38:45] some YouTube strategy. But because I’m a
[38:47] business owner and not a full YouTuber,
[38:49] I’m going to strategically place call to
[38:51] actions to go off platform in every
[38:53] video because that’s the game that I’m
[38:55] playing. And by the way, you can do them
[38:57] both. Here’s the homework. Here’s the
[38:58] homework. Ready? Lean in. Tactic
[39:00] incoming.
[39:02] when you do your call to actions in a
[39:04] video, which is the part of your video
[39:05] where you’re gonna say, “Hey, by the
[39:07] way, um if you’re interested in these
[39:08] shaker bottles, like actually got a
[39:09] fresh batch custom made with uh by
[39:12] Perfect Shaker. Uh we just restocked and
[39:15] you’re more more than welcome to get
[39:16] one. We got like a hundred that we made,
[39:18] limited edition. You can find that at
[39:19] the link in the description below. Just
[39:21] again making things up here. It’s the
[39:23] part of your video where you do that,
[39:24] where you let people know about the
[39:26] stuff that you want them to get. There’s
[39:28] several levels here, which is why we can
[39:29] talk about it in some Q&A.” Getting over
[39:31] the imposter syndrome. uh not wanting to
[39:33] feel slimy, all the all the good things.
[39:34] The whole with the tactic,
[39:37] stop doing first, I should say, start
[39:39] doing call to actions in your video.
[39:42] That’s the first place I see when I’m
[39:43] like linking up with someone and like
[39:45] doing a diagnosis of their channel,
[39:46] doing a channel audit. I’m like, I don’t
[39:47] see any call to I don’t see you talking
[39:49] about your book in your videos. And
[39:51] they’re like, yeah, well, I just don’t
[39:53] really It’s like, hm, gee, just start
[39:55] there. That’ll make changes overnight.
[39:57] the number of times I’ve been on a
[39:58] coaching call and literally just said,
[40:00] “Hey, good news. We can call the session
[40:03] early because you just need to go back
[40:05] and flip on the switches in upcoming
[40:07] videos to say, “Go to the link in the
[40:09] description to get my thing.” Whether
[40:11] it’s a freebie for your email list or
[40:13] it’s a like direct funnel, no funnel for
[40:15] a product. Like, you just got to start
[40:17] saying it and stuff will happen. And
[40:19] then sure enough, they come back to the
[40:20] next coach call. Someone bought my book.
[40:21] Oh yeah, because you talked about it,
[40:24] right? I’m being a little goofy, but the
[40:25] whole point is in your call to actions,
[40:27] you should be doing them. And when you
[40:29] do them, the tactic is don’t do them at
[40:31] the end. I know you’re like me. Back
[40:33] when I was doing call to actions and
[40:35] stuff, it’s like I kind of would just
[40:36] slide it in at the end because I was all
[40:38] like, I don’t want people to think I’m
[40:40] like selling stuff. It’s like what? Just
[40:42] offer. No one. Not everyone has to take
[40:44] you up on it. But again, do you want to
[40:46] be a YouTuber or do you want to put on
[40:48] your big boy big girl pants, step into
[40:50] stage three, and move to stage four and
[40:51] be a business owner in a YouTuber’s
[40:53] costume? because you actually want to
[40:54] change your life in six months because
[40:56] you actually want to get to 10K a month.
[40:57] Because you actually want to quit your
[40:59] job. Like, I’m sorry, but these are the
[41:00] decisions you got to make. And this is
[41:02] where you make it. Stage three,
[41:04] money-making plan. Do your call to
[41:06] actions earlier in the video, ideally
[41:09] before, halfway through your video. And
[41:12] after value,
[41:15] don’t do a call to action the first 30
[41:17] seconds. This is being in the YouTuber
[41:19] YouTubers costume thing. YouTube
[41:20] monitors the first 30 second retention.
[41:22] Don’t do that.
[41:23] Do your video, do your hook, deliver the
[41:25] first bits of value, drop a call to
[41:28] action, weave it in organically. Hey,
[41:31] speaking of, you know, we’re doing a
[41:33] fitness video. And speaking of like
[41:34] smoothies, like one of my favorite ways
[41:37] to bring smoothies with me is in this
[41:38] shaker bottle that has like the I don’t
[41:40] know, I’m just riffing, right? But you
[41:42] like tie it in and you do it before
[41:43] halfway. Why? Because that’s where most
[41:45] of our retention curves have the highest
[41:48] retention.
[41:49] Your retention curve and my retention
[41:51] curve look awfully similar, especially
[41:53] at the end.
[41:56] Why are you talking to people where
[41:58] nobody is? Is that even a sentence? Talk
[42:02] to people where they are. Okay. Hey,
[42:04] stage three. You start to win because
[42:06] that attention you’re making becomes
[42:07] income. Okay. Here’s like a quick case
[42:09] study of this.
[42:11] Results may vary, but this is true. So,
[42:14] here’s what’s cool. This is Jacqueline,
[42:16] uh, one of our students.
[42:22] specific niche, gardening in Florida.
[42:25] She actually ended up making over
[42:26] 1,000. Year two,
[42:43] 55,000.
[42:47] And that’s all because of videos she
[42:49] made like this. Videos that she
[42:51] committed to over the long haul. Look at
[42:53] what this is. This is a one-year review.
[42:56] You know how valuable that is to someone
[42:58] whose like buyer intent or their intent
[43:01] is to buy. They’re like someone who did
[43:03] like the year-long review. Yes, please.
[43:07] I’ll take that. That’s why everything
[43:09] grew. And that’s actually just one
[43:11] affiliate program. She has multiple
[43:13] streams of income. her own products,
[43:14] other affiliates, uh, other affiliate
[43:16] stream income. And this is what happens
[43:18] when you start or stop guessing and you
[43:20] start becoming a content pro. We’ve
[43:21] talked about this. You’re learning the
[43:22] skills. You’re installing new systems.
[43:24] You’re creating content that pays you
[43:26] again and again. And I’d love to know,
[43:27] hey, like, where are you right now?
[43:29] We’re going to start getting ready for
[43:30] some Q&A. We’ve gone through three
[43:32] stages. Do you know where you’re at
[43:34] right now? Are you in zero? I’m so glad
[43:37] you’re here. Are you in one, two, three?
[43:40] We’ve gone through three of them. Drop
[43:41] it in the chat. would love to see if you
[43:42] already know where you’re at right now.
[43:44] But let’s land the plane on these stages
[43:47] where a lot of us desire to get to if
[43:49] we’re not already here or if you’re
[43:50] already here to help you optimize it
[43:52] even more. Stage four is business
[43:53] builder. I was already alluding to this
[43:56] business builder. This is where the
[43:59] money is compounding and the views are
[44:01] compounding.
[44:02] People aren’t just watching you, they’re
[44:04] paying you because you have a money
[44:05] plan. But the biggest roadblock here is
[44:09] going to be focus. And by the way, the
[44:11] financial benchmark here would look
[44:13] something like between three and 10K
[44:14] consistently.
[44:16] Consistently somewhere between three and
[44:18] 10 between, you know, whatever money
[44:20] plan you have, whatever, you know,
[44:22] monetization strategies you put in
[44:23] place, it’s like 3 to 10.
[44:25] But the biggest roadblock is focus here.
[44:28] Because here’s what’s cool along the
[44:29] journey, right? Stepping from stage two
[44:32] to stage three, you you found a money
[44:33] plan that worked. You got 20 cents from
[44:35] somewhere, right? Or you got whatever
[44:37] from somewhere. You sold a metal bed.
[44:40] You sold a shaker bottle. You get
[44:41] excited because you’re like, “Dude, this
[44:43] thing freaking works.” And in your
[44:45] excitement, you do what I did,
[44:46] [laughter]
[44:48] which is build way too many things. You
[44:51] like, you’re like, “Oh, dude, I can turn
[44:53] anything into gold, baby.” And you’re
[44:55] like, “What can I sell? All the
[44:57] affiliates I could possibly do.” And
[44:59] you’re like, “All the courses I could
[45:00] build, all the books I could,” you just
[45:02] like start to kind of go a little crazy
[45:05] because you saw that it worked with one
[45:07] thing. So, you’re like, “Oh, if it
[45:08] worked with one thing, if I just do more
[45:09] things, I get more money.” Here’s the
[45:12] thing, though. If you’re unable to focus
[45:15] at this point and learn how to double
[45:17] down, you start to learn things like the
[45:18] 8020 rule, right? And you’re trying to
[45:19] figure out like, “Hey, where’s the place
[45:21] that I actually,” and you start to
[45:22] honestly, honestly, who cares about some
[45:24] 8020 rule? You just start to get even
[45:27] more in tune with your audience. And you
[45:29] really start to know and are able to
[45:30] anticipate their needs. Where in the
[45:34] market is lacking? Where are they
[45:35] choosing other people over you? This is
[45:37] why it’s a business builder mentality.
[45:39] You actually need to find you found a
[45:41] money plan that works, but you’re
[45:42] chasing every new offer. You need to
[45:43] learn to focus here. You need to learn
[45:46] to focus. What are the things you could
[45:48] that what are the things that are
[45:49] distractions
[45:51] that are taking away your time, taking
[45:53] away your energy? It’s giving you some
[45:55] money, but you’re getting way more money
[45:56] over here for far less effort, but
[45:58] you’re just so convinced that it’s this
[45:59] way and it’s this thing. You need to
[46:01] learn how to kill stuff.
[46:03] Like uh metaphorically speaking, you got
[46:06] to learn how to like chop stuff down.
[46:07] Yeah, we’re we’re done. We’re going to
[46:09] close it up. We’re just going to lock
[46:10] stuff down. Like, and we’re going to
[46:11] focus over here. Because if you’re able
[46:14] to focus, follow one course until
[46:16] successful is the acronym I heard from
[46:18] somewhere, probably Sean. Like, you have
[46:20] to follow one course until successful.
[46:23] At one thing that’s working, I bet you
[46:25] can get that one thing that’s working
[46:26] really well to double or triple faster
[46:28] than this little thing over here that
[46:29] you’re just trying to fan the flames on.
[46:31] like let it go. Focus over here. Maybe
[46:33] there’s a different season. So, here’s
[46:35] what you need to go do. Here’s your
[46:37] homework in this in this stage. If you
[46:39] haven’t already, build one bridge
[46:42] between your videos and your business
[46:44] results. You’re a business builder here.
[46:46] One solid bridge that’s reinforced. You
[46:50] know, it works. It gets you views
[46:51] because the content you make that lead
[46:53] to leads, because of the way you do your
[46:55] call to actions in the videos that
[46:57] actually lead to sales, because of a
[46:59] follow-up process you would have in
[47:01] place after people take you up on the
[47:02] free thing or buy your low ticket thing
[47:05] or jump into a discovery call with you.
[47:07] You’re building a business at this
[47:08] stage. And for time sake, I’m not going
[47:10] to go into all the details about that,
[47:12] but if you have questions, drop them and
[47:14] let’s talk about it. The big thing you
[47:16] can do here is to say no to the shiny
[47:18] new idea. Avoid shiny object syndrome.
[47:20] You already if at this stage you know
[47:23] you know in your heart of hearts what’s
[47:25] the thing that’s already really working.
[47:27] Even if you’re a little bored of it like
[47:29] you’re trying to build a business. If
[47:32] you can get the thing that you’re kind
[47:33] of bored of to start to flourish even
[47:34] more because it’s already just doing
[47:35] really well. Guess what? You just bought
[47:37] yourself some money and time to go do
[47:38] the thing that you’re you feel like oh I
[47:39] need to really start this. This is where
[47:41] you adopt a different mentality. The win
[47:43] here is you have proof of concept and
[47:45] now you have to protect it from your own
[47:47] ambition. You can become your own worst
[47:49] enemy at this stage. And it’s kind of
[47:52] funny like I’ve talked about myself
[47:53] here. I’ll just roast myself for a
[47:55] little bit. [laughter] I was like I
[47:56] think of me at stage four. That’s
[47:58] probably why you’re like, “Wow, Nathan
[48:00] like got really passionate right here.”
[48:01] Is because I did this. I did this. I
[48:04] started my YouTube channel. I was like a
[48:05] music guy helping people learn to write
[48:07] songs ever since a kid. And then like I
[48:09] did it a little bit on the side. So for
[48:11] me in my niche, I was like, “Oh, I
[48:13] should help people with music.” And look
[48:14] at all this. It’s like every I touched a
[48:16] lot of different things in my side
[48:19] hustle YouTube business. It only took me
[48:21] about 10 hours a week to run and it was
[48:24] about 30 grand give or take a year. I
[48:26] was still able to have a full-time job
[48:28] and was able to use a lot of income to
[48:30] help our family with specific goals. But
[48:31] there was YouTube ad revenue, affiliate
[48:33] revenue, there was contract work, like
[48:35] literally got hired from people who
[48:37] found me on YouTube to build courses and
[48:39] curriculum about music production
[48:41] software, partnerships with other people
[48:43] in my niche. had some brand deals, some
[48:45] recurring, you know, digital core sales
[48:47] with the biggest one and even did
[48:48] one-on-one coaching with people here.
[48:49] And this was about 10 hours a week that
[48:51] I got to I had to go through the stages,
[48:53] but I got to this point that was really
[48:55] sweet for my family and I, but
[48:56] unfortunately, it was also happening at
[48:58] the worst time in my life. So, I
[49:00] understand the reality of life not being
[49:03] how you want it to be. And yet, you have
[49:05] this goal and vision that you can see
[49:07] and like it’s tough for a little bit.
[49:09] You got to like make both work. And if
[49:12] you’re building something on the side in
[49:14] this business builder phase, I mean all
[49:15] the way through it to be honest, but it
[49:18] starts to require a little bit more of
[49:20] you, a lot more of you. It actually
[49:21] demands a whole different version of
[49:22] yourself. I was working at a martial
[49:24] arts school during the day, which if you
[49:25] know, you know that industry is very
[49:27] demanding. It was six, seven days a week
[49:29] all day. If I’m not answering the calls,
[49:32] I’m uh teaching classes. If I’m not
[49:34] teaching classes, I’m cleaning. If I
[49:35] wasn’t cleaning, I was doing birthday
[49:37] parties or seminars. If I wasn’t doing
[49:38] those, I was there early. Why? because I
[49:40] had like a hundred cold calls I had to
[49:42] make. So, I’m just saying I understand
[49:44] the difficult season. My YouTube battle
[49:46] station, you can see there in the middle
[49:47] of the screen, is in the corner of our
[49:49] one-bedroom apartment. Bless my wife
[49:52] forever for agreeing to let me do that.
[49:55] And that like card on the side is my
[49:57] morning routine. I was waking up at 4:30
[49:59] to be able to have time to try to do
[50:01] something like take care of myself, like
[50:03] work out, but really it was more about
[50:05] having time before the day started to be
[50:08] able to work on this whole YouTube
[50:09] thing. I had to do it in the morning. I
[50:11] had to do it in the morning. I chose to
[50:12] get up early to work on this stuff. And
[50:14] I actually chose myself, like full
[50:15] disclosure, like wow, I’m here with
[50:16] Think Media because I actually use Think
[50:18] Media stuff. So like I was a I’m I’m
[50:20] like a Think Media alumni like using the
[50:23] strategies and coaching programs here. I
[50:25] had video ranking academy which was on
[50:28] our budget. You can see down at the
[50:29] below there. At the same time, we’re
[50:31] attacking debt. That’s why having this
[50:33] extra income was so beneficial in this
[50:35] season and was a big driver for me
[50:36] honestly because my wife and I didn’t
[50:39] want to have a family or didn’t want to
[50:41] have our first child until we were out
[50:43] of debt. It’s like it’s just something
[50:44] personally that we felt convicted that
[50:47] we wanted to strive for, wanted to shoot
[50:48] for. And so I started making videos,
[50:50] man. And you know what I did? You know
[50:51] how I told you way back at the old stage
[50:54] zero or one? I told you you should go
[50:57] make uh videos answering specific
[50:59] questions. It’ll help you be it’ll help
[51:00] you be consistent on YouTube because
[51:02] you’re answering stuff that you know
[51:04] people want answers to and they can be
[51:06] pretty quick to answer because it’s just
[51:07] a specific question. If you’re jumping
[51:09] in now, drop a question. Let’s talk
[51:10] about it here in a little bit when we do
[51:11] Q Q&A. But I made a video, several
[51:15] videos about like how to do specific
[51:16] things in music production software.
[51:18] That video is in 1 minute and 10
[51:20] seconds. Sometimes that’s all the time
[51:22] you have and so you got to make it work.
[51:25] I’m I’m fast forwarding ahead for time
[51:27] sake, but long story short, those
[51:29] initial short videos of me answering
[51:31] questions led to me answering bigger,
[51:34] weightier questions, and I started to
[51:35] become the guy that helped people make
[51:39] full-on songs with this piece of
[51:40] software. Not just like, “Hey, here’s
[51:41] how to flip on that one switch.” I was
[51:43] like, “No, here’s how to like do your
[51:44] craft, man, in this piece of software.”
[51:47] And that led to me building products.
[51:50] Not all of them were successful. You can
[51:51] see a lot of things down there at the
[51:53] bottom, but I had a few heavy hitters.
[51:55] There were a couple courses that
[51:56] continuously sold. And I had to learn to
[51:58] double down on what was already working.
[52:00] And I remember making my first sale from
[52:04] the course right here. It is 147,000.
[52:12] Like I remember this being the
[52:14] accumulation personally
[52:17] of just so much time, dreams, energy,
[52:20] effort, money, time poured into this
[52:23] thing with the hopes that it would work.
[52:25] And the fact that I could make YouTube
[52:27] videos and people buy my courses and I’m
[52:30] helping people actually release their
[52:32] songs just fueled me for so long. And I
[52:35] remember we got to celebrate. We got
[52:36] boba. Shout out. What’s your favorite
[52:38] flavor? I don’t even remember what would
[52:39] be in here. Taro, I think is what I got.
[52:42] Who knows? But like, we started
[52:43] celebrating and using the money that I
[52:45] was making from this YouTube business to
[52:47] actually do cool things. This is the day
[52:49] that we found out we were pregnant
[52:51] because we had taken a vacation. Long
[52:53] story short, I’m not trying to like clog
[52:55] this up, but like if you work in the
[52:57] martial arts industry, there’s no paid
[52:58] time off. There’s no benefits. It’s like
[53:01] work is honestly like hustle is really
[53:02] glorified. It’s like no, you just work
[53:04] and work and work and like that is your
[53:05] value. We we worked at the same martial
[53:07] arts school together, which is how we
[53:08] met. Side quest. It was so fun to date
[53:11] because we would spar each other and
[53:12] break boards. Done with the side quest.
[53:14] But but [laughter] like because we
[53:16] didn’t really get to take any vacations
[53:17] like oh guess what paid for my
[53:19] vacations? This little YouTube music
[53:21] business that I started. And to wrap up
[53:24] the story, we actually got to tell Dave
[53:26] Ramsey we were debtree. And we were
[53:29] debtree so much faster than we would
[53:31] have been because of literally because
[53:34] of this YouTube business that I built
[53:35] that I was able to run in 10 hours or
[53:37] less a week that brought in like half
[53:41] the income I was already making at my
[53:43] day job anyway. And long story short,
[53:45] you just don’t Here’s the cool thing you
[53:47] don’t know at the business builder stage
[53:49] is because you’re starting to get some
[53:51] you’re starting to get noticed. You
[53:52] start to stick out in your niche. You’re
[53:53] starting to get some notoriety because
[53:55] you have views coming in. you have
[53:56] products that are selling or people that
[53:58] are trusting you enough to take you up
[54:00] on your products and services and like
[54:02] you don’t even know what could be around
[54:03] the corner from continuing to stick with
[54:05] it, continuing to scale. Because for me
[54:07] in my story, why I’m sitting here with
[54:09] you right now is I actually sold that
[54:10] whole YouTube business last year, the
[54:12] top of 2025, I sold it all. The YouTube
[54:15] channel, the online business, the domain
[54:18] name, all my courses, all my like
[54:20] everything like email list, like sold it
[54:22] all. and I was able to give it to, you
[54:24] know, uh, somebody who was in the same
[54:26] niche. We partnered up a lot, so he got
[54:28] a good bro deal. It’s in good hands, but
[54:30] like I never thought the word
[54:31] acquisition I would get to use as this
[54:34] like, you know, Midwestern Missouri kid
[54:36] who’s like, “Oh, I just sold my
[54:37] company.” Yeah, it’s crazy. And because
[54:41] of that, I found out that for me, the
[54:42] whole next phase, me in my life
[54:44] personally, is after selling my
[54:46] business, I realized, oh, there’s a
[54:47] whole other calling. Because of this
[54:49] whole YouTube thing, tracing it all the
[54:50] way back to stage zero because I pressed
[54:52] record trying to help people answer
[54:53] specific questions about this music
[54:55] piece of software. Fast forward all the
[54:57] way to now, stuff I didn’t even see
[54:59] coming, the very person that I learned
[55:01] YouTube from, I get to work for. What
[55:03] the heck are we even talking about?
[55:05] Like, what is life? This is crazy. So
[55:08] for me personally, I have been at four
[55:12] of the five stages of YouTube and now I
[55:13] work for someone in the final stage. And
[55:16] this final stage here, get those
[55:18] questions ready.
[55:20] Final stage is creator CEO, man. Creator
[55:24] CEO at this point. Yes, we are like 10K
[55:26] consistent minimum. It’s actually like
[55:28] far beyond that at this point as you
[55:30] start to scale. And it can just continue
[55:31] to increase up to, you know, infinite
[55:33] numbers a month. Uh purely because
[55:35] there’s no six. There’s no stage six. At
[55:36] least what we’ve found, you know, it’s
[55:38] like this is a stage you get to and you
[55:41] you’re just here because you’re
[55:43] continuing to develop your skill set
[55:45] within this stage. This is where you
[55:48] have multiple income streams. What it
[55:49] look like? You’ve got a whole team, man.
[55:51] It’s not just you. It is not just you
[55:52] anymore. You have some sort of team with
[55:54] you. You are building legacy. You uh are
[55:57] also the biggest bottleneck at this
[55:58] stage. So the struggle here is while it
[56:02] would have taken nobody but you
[56:04] [laughter]
[56:05] in those several whatever it is several
[56:07] years several whatever it is the
[56:08] timeline for you to get to this point
[56:10] was mostly because of you and your work.
[56:13] And at this point the biggest roadblock
[56:14] will be you continuing to do that. You
[56:17] need to learn how to leverage. You need
[56:19] to learn how to build systems. You need
[56:20] to learn how to delegate. You can’t be
[56:21] the CEO, the chief executive officer and
[56:24] founder of your own company and still do
[56:27] every single thing under the sun that a
[56:28] creator or a business builder would do.
[56:31] You can’t do it. You won’t survive. You
[56:33] have to learn how to delegate. And this
[56:35] is how your legacy continues to build.
[56:37] And so really for you, what’s a very
[56:39] tactical thing that you can do because
[56:40] I’ve actually coached several people who
[56:42] are at this stage. And you actually
[56:44] start by documenting what you’re doing.
[56:46] Like how do you hire? This is a common
[56:48] question. Nathan, I think it’s time for
[56:49] me to hire an editor. Nathan, I think
[56:50] it’s time for me to get like a VA, some
[56:52] sort of virtual assistant, or just
[56:53] someone that could help me with my
[56:54] customer service. What do I do?
[56:58] The best thing you can start doing if
[56:59] you’re entering the stage is to document
[57:01] workflows. What are you doing right now
[57:03] so that they don’t live only in your
[57:04] head? Because that’s the oh my goodness,
[57:06] this is like the toughest thing. Your
[57:08] way that you operate and the procedures
[57:09] you do at this point in stage five are
[57:12] like muscle memory, man. I mean, you
[57:14] just like are cruising and grooving
[57:16] because you just know what to do. You
[57:17] open up YouTube, you know what to do.
[57:19] You turn on your camera, you know what
[57:20] to do. You open up your customer service
[57:21] and your emails or your CRM and you know
[57:23] what to do. Like, you’re just on it. But
[57:26] you can’t be on it and your business be
[57:28] sustainable. So, in order to pass things
[57:29] off, you have to start documenting your
[57:31] workflow so they don’t live in your
[57:32] head. Learn to hire out your weaknesses.
[57:35] What are the things that you if if this
[57:36] was off your plate would really free up
[57:39] a lot of time for you to do higher
[57:40] leverage work. For a lot of content
[57:42] creators, that actually is editing.
[57:44] Unless editing happens to be something
[57:45] that is incredibly joyous for you and
[57:47] feels your life, then keep it. But for a
[57:50] lot of people, you don’t have to be the
[57:51] person editing your videos. And now if
[57:53] someone’s editing your videos, you know
[57:54] how much time you just bought back for
[57:56] yourself to work, to spend more time on
[57:58] packaging, to spend more time on
[57:59] ideulating, to spend more time on
[58:00] building the next thing, training the
[58:02] next person. You have to learn how to
[58:04] remove yourself from production at this
[58:06] point. And the win, man, is like what’s
[58:08] really cool is you built something real
[58:10] like creator, CEO, what the heck? like
[58:13] you lead the machine. You lead the
[58:16] machine. You’re leading something.
[58:18] You’re not necessarily running it
[58:19] anymore. And the cool thing about this
[58:21] stage is I do think about Sean Sean Kel
[58:23] who if you don’t know, uh Sean Kel is
[58:25] the founder and CEO of Think Media. So
[58:27] we’re streaming right now on the Think
[58:28] Media podcast channel, which you should
[58:31] totally subscribe to because each and
[58:32] every week Sean and I are laying it down
[58:34] with some nerdy YouTube and business
[58:35] advice. But we also have our main
[58:37] channel, Think Media, which is over
[58:38] three million subscribers. And Sean’s
[58:40] been doing this thing for like close to
[58:41] a couple decades. But he started with
[58:44] nothing but a message and a smartphone.
[58:48] But he built momentum through that one
[58:51] imperfect upload at a time. He went
[58:52] through all of the stages. And his
[58:53] breakthrough came when he started
[58:54] upgrading his skills, not his stuff. And
[58:57] he’s talked about this so much. Like he
[58:59] learned how to turn momentum into a real
[59:03] business. And so at this point, it’s
[59:05] kind of crazy just on the YouTube side.
[59:06] These are like recent revenue snapshots
[59:08] from our main channel, from the podcast
[59:11] channel. Um, and that’s kind of like
[59:13] over five, six grand uh a month on the
[59:16] podcast side and like 30k a month, you
[59:18] know, average on the main channel side.
[59:20] And this is just YouTube. Like Sean has
[59:22] gone on to be a creator CEO and like
[59:24] he’s built multiple income streams. Like
[59:27] it’s a multi-million dollar business and
[59:28] a growing team. It’s insane. And the big
[59:32] thing that I have learned through
[59:34] coaching people that Sean would say if
[59:36] he was right here as a creator CEO that
[59:38] you probably are already picking up and
[59:39] already have learned even if you just
[59:41] punched fear in the face, you recorded
[59:42] your first video and you went from stage
[59:43] zero to stage one, you learn that you
[59:47] got to become a new version of yourself.
[59:50] Cool to be hallmarky right here. Cool to
[59:52] get a little cheesy because you know
[59:53] it’s true deep down like you have to
[59:55] become a new version of yourself.
[59:58] Stage zero couldn’t handle the weight of
[01:00:00] stage five. You would collapse. You know
[01:00:02] what I’m saying? Like stage two can’t
[01:00:04] handle the details required for stage
[01:00:06] four. This is why it’s important to know
[01:00:08] where you are. What version of yourself
[01:00:10] are you right now? And how do you need
[01:00:13] to level up? Where’s the next place that
[01:00:15] you need to go? And this is why we’ve
[01:00:17] put together these five stages. I’d love
[01:00:19] to know, do you know where you’re at? We
[01:00:21] went through all five. We’re going to
[01:00:22] transition to some Q&A here in just a
[01:00:24] second. So, make sure you’re dropping
[01:00:25] your questions. I already see Logan
[01:00:27] starring some questions here. So, we’re
[01:00:29] going to be loaded up. Looks like we got
[01:00:31] Wander Lust living. Brandon, I see your
[01:00:33] question in there. Stacy, I see your
[01:00:35] question there. So, we’re going to get
[01:00:36] into those in just a second. But, I’d
[01:00:37] love to know like, you know, where
[01:00:38] you’re at.
[01:00:40] What stage of YouTube would you say that
[01:00:43] you’re in? And hey, before we jump into
[01:00:45] Q&A, um I would love to share a super
[01:00:49] cool opportunity that we put together.
[01:00:51] Um, it’s not for everybody, of course,
[01:00:52] but if you’re at all interested in like
[01:00:54] just not doing the whole thing alone,
[01:00:57] quite honestly,
[01:00:58] we would love to be able to coach you
[01:01:00] and we’d love to be able to help you
[01:01:01] because here’s the reality and we can
[01:01:03] help you in two different ways. You
[01:01:04] honestly don’t have to pay us. You can
[01:01:05] pay us with some money or you can pay us
[01:01:06] with some time. Just to keep it real,
[01:01:08] there’s two paths from this training
[01:01:09] together. If you made it this far, over
[01:01:11] 100 people right now live, who knows on
[01:01:12] the replay. If you’re serious, man, like
[01:01:15] you have two paths.
[01:01:17] You can go implement this on your own.
[01:01:19] Please, please subscribe to our podcast
[01:01:21] right here each and every week dropping
[01:01:23] gems if I may say. Uh, stay plugged into
[01:01:26] our free trainings. But I’d love to see
[01:01:28] you on more classes like this and would
[01:01:29] honestly love to see updates from you on
[01:01:31] classes like this. You’ve got to keep
[01:01:33] publishing and improving. If you are
[01:01:34] still at stage stage zero on the next
[01:01:37] training, if we do another thing like
[01:01:38] this, I’d love for you to be able to
[01:01:39] say, “Nath, I’m on stage two. Nathan,
[01:01:40] I’m on stage one. I just like did it. I
[01:01:43] moved on.” But the second path is get
[01:01:45] help and compress time. And I shared a
[01:01:47] few case studies today, you know, myself
[01:01:49] included, but like also shared a couple
[01:01:51] case studies that are recent of people
[01:01:53] that are just jumping in and within a
[01:01:54] call or two, within an insight or two,
[01:01:56] within a a quick tweak uh tweak or two.
[01:01:59] I say that five times fast. Quick tweak
[01:02:01] or two changing things. And so I want to
[01:02:05] invite you to think about what would
[01:02:07] life look like? What would the rest of
[01:02:08] this year look like? It’s kind of crazy.
[01:02:09] We’re halfway through. If you had
[01:02:11] personalized direction, if you had
[01:02:12] accountability, if you had proven
[01:02:14] systems, if you had a community of
[01:02:16] serious creators who are moving through
[01:02:18] the stages, what would it look like if
[01:02:19] you played YouTube on co-op mode?
[01:02:23] This is like my little nerdiness coming
[01:02:25] out, but like I think a lot of us have
[01:02:26] played video games or some sort of game
[01:02:27] before. Co-op mode is where you hand the
[01:02:30] controller to someone else.
[01:02:33] Stop playing solo. Stop playing on
[01:02:35] single player. It’s fun for a little bit
[01:02:36] until you just keep dying and then you
[01:02:38] realize you’re talking out loud to
[01:02:39] yourself and you’re, you know, I guess
[01:02:41] in this case you’re not cursing the
[01:02:43] screen or maybe you are. You’re cursing
[01:02:44] out YouTube. You’re like, why a 10 of
[01:02:47] 10? You know, like you’re like, I’m not
[01:02:49] winning.
[01:02:51] Co-op mode is where you hand over the
[01:02:53] controller and now you’re not doing it
[01:02:54] alone. And the best way to play is if
[01:02:56] you’re playing with someone who knows
[01:02:57] what’s up. If you’re playing with
[01:02:58] someone who’s been down the same path
[01:03:00] that you are trying to go down, it’s
[01:03:02] just a lot easier to go through it with
[01:03:05] someone who knows what there’s like,
[01:03:06] dude, hit this. Use this shortcut. Oh,
[01:03:08] we got to go around here. Yeah, the
[01:03:10] boss, he’s like typically goes left, so
[01:03:11] we’re going to need to go right. Like,
[01:03:13] playing on co-op mode, we have found to
[01:03:16] be the fastest way to shortcut all the
[01:03:18] stages. I mean, hands down. It I mean,
[01:03:20] you just we know this to just be true in
[01:03:22] life, like learning something by
[01:03:24] yourself or like getting lessons you
[01:03:25] want to learn. I was in the music niche.
[01:03:27] you trying to learn how to like record
[01:03:28] songs by yourself or can I just tell you
[01:03:30] which microphone to get? Can I tell you
[01:03:32] how uh high to have your microphone
[01:03:34] turned on? Can I tell you which plugins
[01:03:35] are worth your time? And then can I tell
[01:03:36] you how, you know, he was saying like,
[01:03:38] do you want to do this yourself or do
[01:03:39] you want to do this with someone else?
[01:03:40] And we put together something incredibly
[01:03:42] sick, something incredibly sick for you.
[01:03:45] If you’re here today, we’d love to give
[01:03:47] you a free channel assessment.
[01:03:50] Yes, you read that right. Free channel
[01:03:52] assessment. If you go to myviralv
[01:03:55] videoococoach.com.
[01:03:58] So we’ll drop that link in the chat too.
[01:04:00] Myviralvidecoach.com.
[01:04:02] Hey, if you know, you’re going to need
[01:04:04] to apply. You’re going to need to apply.
[01:04:07] But if it’s a good fit, meaning what
[01:04:09] does that mean, Nathan? Yeah, I got you.
[01:04:11] Meaning you you’ve actually got some
[01:04:12] traction because in order to have a
[01:04:13] channel assessment, there has to be a
[01:04:15] channel to assess, right? So, if you’ve
[01:04:18] been posting even a few videos, even a
[01:04:20] few videos, if you are in stage one,
[01:04:22] come get your free channel assessment.
[01:04:25] When you apply, if it’s a good fit and
[01:04:26] you actually show up is the key. By the
[01:04:28] way, you’re going to get a full AI
[01:04:31] powered channel audit of your channel
[01:04:33] with an actual human. By the way, it’s
[01:04:34] just like we use we have this set of
[01:04:36] this entire suite of tools that we
[01:04:37] actually use with our one-on-one
[01:04:39] coaching clients that we’re just using
[01:04:41] for free for anyone who we think is a
[01:04:43] good fit. After you apply, you can show
[01:04:44] up and get a full audit of your channel
[01:04:46] with a human actually looking at your
[01:04:47] channel. The exact same tools that our
[01:04:50] coaches use with our one-on-one clients.
[01:04:51] This is every 90 days we do a game plan.
[01:04:54] And it’s going to be personalized to
[01:04:55] your stage, your niche, and your
[01:04:57] channel. This is why you have to have a
[01:04:58] channel, right? Like, you have to be
[01:04:59] able to fill in information about what
[01:05:01] you’re doing. But the most cool the
[01:05:03] coolest part is that you’re going to get
[01:05:04] a clear action plan for your next steps.
[01:05:06] And it’s free because you might have you
[01:05:09] might have a hunch. Oh yeah, I’m stage
[01:05:10] one. Oh yeah, I’m stage three. Like,
[01:05:11] okay, cool. Wherever you are, let’s get
[01:05:14] a game plan together. And this is
[01:05:15] completely free. You do just have to
[01:05:17] show up. You have to apply. So, it won’t
[01:05:18] be for everyone. But you do have to show
[01:05:21] up. And full disclosure, because there’s
[01:05:23] nothing to hide. Like Logan and I both.
[01:05:25] And you can ask us questions by the way,
[01:05:26] too. Like, let’s talk YouTube for sure.
[01:05:28] But if you have questions about the
[01:05:29] stuff and about like is it legit? Is
[01:05:31] about whatever. Like Logan and I would
[01:05:32] love to talk about that with you. Um,
[01:05:34] you’re going to hear about the fastest
[01:05:36] way that we believe to upgrade your
[01:05:40] identity is to change your environment.
[01:05:41] So, you’re going to hear about our
[01:05:42] coaching program. And the coaching
[01:05:44] program we have the sickest deal on
[01:05:45] right now is this thing called Elite.
[01:05:47] I’ve referenced it a couple times here.
[01:05:48] That’s that Josh guy who literally on
[01:05:49] his first call had like a uh a outlier
[01:05:53] video, his second call making money from
[01:05:55] his videos. It’s group coaching. It’s
[01:05:57] group coaching that you get to show up
[01:05:59] with with other serious creators all at
[01:06:02] the same stage. So, it’s categorized
[01:06:03] like are you at this stage or this
[01:06:05] stage? People that are trying to grow to
[01:06:07] stay consistent and get even more from
[01:06:08] YouTube. And by the way, just right off
[01:06:10] the bat, these are real people. Real
[01:06:13] like there’s no AI bots. You will
[01:06:16] actually hop on a Zoom call in a room
[01:06:18] with a vetted YouTube strategist to help
[01:06:22] coach you and a few other people from an
[01:06:25] actual coach. And these coaches are
[01:06:27] using the exact same strategies that
[01:06:28] I’ve used that tens of thousands of
[01:06:30] others of students have used to get over
[01:06:32] 30 billion views. We specialize in
[01:06:35] silver play buttons, man. And we know
[01:06:36] that it’s not all about the silver play
[01:06:37] button. actually about the business that
[01:06:39] you’re building underneath, too. Because
[01:06:41] here’s why we put this together. Just
[01:06:42] like to be completely honest, at least
[01:06:44] this is what my week looked like. Tell
[01:06:46] me if this sounds familiar [laughter]
[01:06:48] that, you know, okay, starting the week
[01:06:50] Monday, feeling really good. All right.
[01:06:52] But you kind of get lost because you
[01:06:53] don’t really know how to research or
[01:06:54] what to research. You didn’t hear about
[01:06:56] me telling you like, dude, how to like
[01:06:57] study proven things. So, you’re just
[01:06:59] kind of guessing. It’s your next video
[01:07:01] if you even do any research. Comes to
[01:07:03] Tuesday, maybe there’s a little bit of
[01:07:04] editing, but mostly second guessing.
[01:07:06] Let’s be real, because work was tough.
[01:07:07] And so then you’re like, “Hey, cool.
[01:07:08] It’s only Tuesday. I got the rest of the
[01:07:09] week. I’m going to show up Wednesday.”
[01:07:11] Boom, baby. But you did the wrong thing,
[01:07:14] man. You opened up the comments first
[01:07:17] thing in the morning. What are you doing
[01:07:19] to yourself, right? And you’re like,
[01:07:20] “Oh, I’m reacting to Or you’re reading
[01:07:21] other people’s comments and you’re like,
[01:07:22] “Oh, they have so many more views than
[01:07:24] me.” So then it’s like midday and you
[01:07:26] start overthinking topics. And then,
[01:07:27] yeah, it’s Wednesday and you feel burned
[01:07:28] out because the load between family,
[01:07:30] priorities, work, day job, whatever it
[01:07:32] is, and the whole YouTube thing feeling
[01:07:33] like it’s impossible start to weigh on
[01:07:35] you. So Thursday you’re like, “Okay,
[01:07:37] let’s get back at this.” Watching
[01:07:39] tutorials, you start to start over.
[01:07:41] Friday filming, but like geez, the
[01:07:43] camera went out. I wasn’t, the
[01:07:44] microphone wasn’t on. I didn’t really
[01:07:46] have a plan, so I was all over the
[01:07:47] place. And this whole time I have no
[01:07:49] feedback. It’s just me alone in my room
[01:07:51] kind of talking to my wife or my partner
[01:07:52] about this and they don’t really get it.
[01:07:54] So I’m over here just like, I don’t know
[01:07:55] what I don’t know. And I’m actually not
[01:07:57] doing anything really meaningful. I’m
[01:07:59] like filming and creating stuff, which
[01:08:00] is awesome, but I’m serious about this
[01:08:02] and I’m not getting the results I should
[01:08:03] be getting. So by Saturday in the
[01:08:04] weekend, you’re scrambling for ideas.
[01:08:06] Sunday hits, you have no plan because
[01:08:08] there’s no system, no feedback loop, no
[01:08:10] one to ask, and it’s all scattered
[01:08:12] energy. And hear me, I am I am like the
[01:08:15] tone that you hear from me is that
[01:08:16] myself. This is why I actually paid for
[01:08:20] coaching whatever that four or five
[01:08:21] years ago to be able to not do this
[01:08:24] myself. Like because this was me. This
[01:08:26] was my week. And there’s no way you’re
[01:08:28] going to get to where you want to be if
[01:08:29] your weeks look like this. And so this
[01:08:31] is why we put together elite. this is
[01:08:32] what your week could look like. It’s an
[01:08:35] example. Imagine if you showed up Monday
[01:08:37] and you actually already had a plan
[01:08:40] because you a coach actually helped you
[01:08:42] put together a 90-day game plan so that
[01:08:44] you know exactly what you’re focusing
[01:08:45] on. So, you’re like, “Cool, I know what
[01:08:46] I’m doing this week.” Gee, that’s a
[01:08:47] first. You get to Tuesday, there’s a
[01:08:49] coaching call that day. So, you show up,
[01:08:51] you share your video ideas, get direct
[01:08:53] feedback, and then guess what? Now that
[01:08:56] you have everything tightened up, your
[01:08:57] hook was tightened up a little bit.
[01:08:58] actually went a different direction than
[01:09:00] you thought you should have been titling
[01:09:01] your thumbnail in. Then you actually get
[01:09:03] to go film. So you’re like, “Okay, cool.
[01:09:04] Now I’m filming and I’m filming on
[01:09:05] purpose because I got feedback. The idea
[01:09:08] has been vetted and it’s all tracing
[01:09:10] back to a game plan that I’m actually on
[01:09:13] for the first time.” Maybe Thursday
[01:09:15] there’s this office hours that happens
[01:09:16] every week all about titles and
[01:09:17] thumbnails. So you show up because
[01:09:19] you’re like, “Hey, I got feedback on the
[01:09:20] idea, filmed it. Here’s what I’m
[01:09:22] thinking for the title thumbnail.” you
[01:09:23] get some extra feedback before you
[01:09:25] actually launch it by end of week where
[01:09:28] you publish the video, give it some
[01:09:30] time, you show back up the next week and
[01:09:31] you bring that video. You can literally
[01:09:33] share your analytics, share your screen,
[01:09:34] here’s what the video is doing, so you
[01:09:35] can get feedback. Now, this is just an
[01:09:37] example. This is an example, full
[01:09:40] disclosure, and if you have any
[01:09:41] questions, let us know. But there’s like
[01:09:42] seven calls during the week, group
[01:09:43] coaching calls, all different times, all
[01:09:45] different time zones. If you can’t make
[01:09:47] one, they’re recorded. So, you can
[01:09:49] always submit a question and get the
[01:09:50] recording. But this is a different week,
[01:09:53] is it not, than what things might look
[01:09:55] like right now? And the reason we put
[01:09:56] this together is because imagine doing
[01:09:58] this for 52 weeks. That week, that
[01:10:01] different of a week times 52 weeks
[01:10:03] versus a scattered week. How do you not
[01:10:05] succeed? Okay, we’re jumping to Q&A.
[01:10:09] The standard investment for this is
[01:10:10] 3,000
[01:10:26] for 12 months inside of that kind of a
[01:10:28] week, inside of that kind of
[01:10:29] environment. And just to tell you, we
[01:10:31] have nothing to hide here. We’ve done
[01:10:32] this like tens of thousands of times now
[01:10:34] with people. We actually have a new 2x
[01:10:36] growth guarantee because uh we’re that I
[01:10:40] I’ll say confident. [laughter] We’re
[01:10:41] that confident um in our ability to help
[01:10:44] people grow meaningfully that you get
[01:10:47] this for 12 months. If you don’t 2x your
[01:10:50] growth, we will keep working with you.
[01:10:53] We just keep working with you until we
[01:10:54] do. That’s our goal. Like, you should
[01:10:56] not get into coaching unless you’re
[01:10:57] actually going to grow. And this is not
[01:10:59] for people. We’re looking for magic
[01:11:00] buttons. If you’re looking for the
[01:11:02] overnight stuff, hopefully you know by
[01:11:03] this point that’s not like it’s not you.
[01:11:05] That’s not you. That’s not you if you’re
[01:11:07] here right now. This is not for a course
[01:11:08] collector. This is not for someone who’s
[01:11:10] still in stage zero who’s just convinced
[01:11:12] they need to keep consuming. This isn’t
[01:11:13] for you yet. But it is for people that
[01:11:15] are serious. You you the idea of being
[01:11:19] more of a business owner in a YouTuber’s
[01:11:20] costume is you’re like, “That’s it.
[01:11:23] That’s how I actually turn this dream
[01:11:24] into reality. Oh, I don’t have to have a
[01:11:26] lot of views.” You’re telling me,
[01:11:27] Nathan, that views can be down and
[01:11:29] income can still be up. Yep. Yep. 100%.
[01:11:32] It’s all about your money plan. Um, and
[01:11:34] I do just want to say one thing as your
[01:11:36] big brother or little brother.
[01:11:38] [laughter]
[01:11:39] Hey, if you’re if you’re older than me,
[01:11:41] um,
[01:11:44] you’ve already been thinking about this
[01:11:45] for a while. And if you started, I’m
[01:11:47] freaking so proud of you. But if you’re
[01:11:50] still thinking about it or if you’re
[01:11:52] still kind of dabbling,
[01:11:54] you and I know how this works. Like,
[01:11:56] we’re already halfway through 2026.
[01:11:58] And so with this deal, let’s just lay it
[01:12:00] out on the table. You get an entire year
[01:12:03] of coaching each and every week,
[01:12:05] multiple opportunities, looking over
[01:12:07] every video, every title, every
[01:12:09] thumbnail, every script in your
[01:12:10] analytics after you’re after you’ve
[01:12:11] posted. How do you not win? Right?
[01:12:13] That’s the environment that we are
[01:12:15] purposely trying to create. We’re trying
[01:12:16] to be the best the best at offering
[01:12:19] this.
[01:12:23] You would have an entire year from right
[01:12:25] now to wrap up the end of 2026.
[01:12:29] Imagine being halfway through that kind
[01:12:31] of coaching and it’s the new year. Only
[01:12:35] halfway through the coaching and it’s
[01:12:37] the new year. What change would you have
[01:12:39] already done simply by like putting
[01:12:41] yourself in that environment?
[01:12:44] This is just real talk. I mean honestly
[01:12:46] like let me we can talk if you’re kind
[01:12:49] and courteous as I will be to you. What
[01:12:52] hesitation do you have? Drop it in the
[01:12:55] comments. Like I would love to talk
[01:12:57] about it because if you don’t do this
[01:12:59] now you know how this goes friend. This
[01:13:01] is me. This was my cycle. I didn’t even
[01:13:03] share this. I waited like two or sorry
[01:13:05] uh 18 months. 18 months in stage zero.
[01:13:10] So that was enough time to go through
[01:13:12] the whole, okay, it’s like halfway
[01:13:13] through the year. I still got this. Come
[01:13:14] on. Are you feeling that? You’re like,
[01:13:15] okay, it’s halfway. Didn’t really things
[01:13:17] aren’t really looking how I wanted them
[01:13:19] to, but I got this. If it’s not now,
[01:13:22] Christmas is going to be here before you
[01:13:24] know it. I know that sounds crazy, but
[01:13:26] the holidays are going to hit.
[01:13:29] Things always slow down, and you’re
[01:13:31] going to gear up the energy again when
[01:13:33] you could have already been halfway
[01:13:34] through.
[01:13:36] an entire year of dedicated coaching.
[01:13:40] So, completely understand if it’s not
[01:13:41] the right time. Like, we’re not trying
[01:13:43] to force anybody, but we are just trying
[01:13:44] to say we know what we’re doing. Um, and
[01:13:46] we’d love to help you if you’re serious
[01:13:47] about it. So, if you’d like to play
[01:13:49] YouTube on co-op mode, this is the
[01:13:51] coaching program you will hear about on
[01:13:53] this call. And full disclosure, there’s
[01:13:54] nothing to hide, right, Logan? Like,
[01:13:56] this is actually a free channel
[01:13:58] assessment. Like, please apply and if
[01:14:01] you’re a good fit, show up for your
[01:14:03] channel assessment. But the whole reason
[01:14:05] that we put the assessment together and
[01:14:06] are kind of like peeling back the
[01:14:07] curtain on on our internal one-on-one
[01:14:09] client stuff is because a lot of people
[01:14:12] don’t show up to the calls. You know
[01:14:14] what I mean? So, it’s like show up, show
[01:14:17] that you’re serious. Come get a free
[01:14:19] channel assessment and hear about
[01:14:21] coaching, hear about an opportunity to
[01:14:23] get into something for an entire year at
[01:14:25] half the price to change up your
[01:14:27] environment to make the rest of this
[01:14:29] year the best it’s ever been. And then
[01:14:31] you’re already you’re already rocking
[01:14:32] and rolling by the time it’s New Year’s.
[01:14:34] Heck yeah. I’m not trying to slow down.
[01:14:38] I’m not trying to slow down, man. Like,
[01:14:39] let’s go now. Hey, you can apply at
[01:14:42] myviralvidecoach.com.
[01:14:45] Uh we got that link in the chat for you.
[01:14:48] I’m going to go ahead and bring Logan
[01:14:49] back up. Um for any further housekeeping
[01:14:53] and we’ll get set the stage for some
[01:14:54] Q&A. Logan and I’m so pumped to just
[01:14:57] like go uh super deep. So, like for
[01:15:01] real, we can rapidfire. We can go for
[01:15:03] it. I’m here to hang. We still have like
[01:15:05] a whole 40 minutes of Q&A. Like,
[01:15:08] >> yes.
[01:15:08] >> Anything we need to know before we get
[01:15:09] started?
[01:15:10] >> Um, there’s a question from Omar speaks
[01:15:13] Spanish now.
[01:15:14] >> Is there a super elite I want to double
[01:15:16] in three to six months. [laughter] I
[01:15:18] just thought that was funny.
[01:15:20] >> I love it. I mean, like, full
[01:15:22] disclosure, there we do one-on-one
[01:15:24] coaching. So, like I actually like the
[01:15:26] gusto here. So, if you were at all
[01:15:28] serious and you did apply at
[01:15:30] myviralvidecoach.com,
[01:15:32] um, get your assessment and then you
[01:15:33] could like you you literally are meeting
[01:15:35] with someone on our team. So, you can be
[01:15:37] like, “Hey, what’s the super elite
[01:15:38] stuff?” And they’ll tell you about this
[01:15:40] thing called accelerator, which is our
[01:15:42] one-on-one coaching thing where it’s
[01:15:43] like everything we described, right,
[01:15:45] Logan, before, but you’re not in a
[01:15:47] group. It’s like every week you’re with
[01:15:49] one dedicated strategist working your
[01:15:52] plan. So, it’s definitely uh our team
[01:15:54] calls it all gas, no breaks. So, it’s
[01:15:57] pretty intense. It’s like the personal
[01:15:58] training for YouTube. Um, so if you’re
[01:16:00] at all interested, yes, there is a super
[01:16:02] elite.
[01:16:03] >> Love it. Yeah. And if you have filled
[01:16:05] out the My Viral Video Coach
[01:16:07] application, um, the our team truly does
[01:16:10] want to come alongside you and figure
[01:16:12] out what the best next step for you is
[01:16:14] to propel your channel and make it to
[01:16:16] that next step. So, whether that’s Elite
[01:16:18] or one of our other coaching programs,
[01:16:20] um, they’re not going to hold back.
[01:16:21] They’re going to let you know what’s
[01:16:22] working on your channel, especially with
[01:16:24] that assessment. So Omar, if you head
[01:16:26] over to my viral video, coach Shock,
[01:16:28] they’ll get you taken care of. I just
[01:16:29] thought it was funny and I loved uh the
[01:16:31] enthusiasm. He has a video that is like
[01:16:33] a crazy outlier and he’s making a part
[01:16:34] two right now. So
[01:16:35] >> Omar, come on, man. Let’s go.
[01:16:37] >> Yes. Yes. Okay, here’s a question from
[01:16:39] somebody who wants to create I believe
[01:16:43] she said like a media company for true
[01:16:45] crime. America’s Most Evil is the
[01:16:46] channel. I feel like it’s not for level
[01:16:48] one elite specifically. I don’t have
[01:16:50] that much money, but if I get monetized,
[01:16:52] I’m 100% putting that back into the
[01:16:54] channel. What do you think, Nathan,
[01:16:55] about creators who feel like, gosh, am I
[01:16:57] ready for this with the stage that I’m
[01:16:59] at?
[01:16:59] >> It’s such a good question and like
[01:17:01] there’s no there’s no hidden agenda
[01:17:03] here. So, like, please go take your
[01:17:05] time. Like, if you’re like, I just I
[01:17:07] literally can’t afford it right now.
[01:17:09] Understandable. I would also at the same
[01:17:11] time only because I’ve done the same
[01:17:12] thing. And so, please hear my heart is
[01:17:14] like coming from love and not like
[01:17:15] trying to assume anything. Just doing
[01:17:18] this with hundreds of creators
[01:17:19] personally at this point. is like I but
[01:17:22] is there a way is kind of the question
[01:17:24] to ask what what would need to be true
[01:17:27] for me to be able to jump in and like
[01:17:29] actually trying to run the play out
[01:17:31] because here here’s the truth.
[01:17:33] I think that this kind of thing is for
[01:17:35] every level only because the sooner you
[01:17:38] get into coaching or some sort of
[01:17:40] coaching which by the way doesn’t even
[01:17:41] have to be us. It could be our free
[01:17:42] stuff here every week, but just the
[01:17:43] sooner you get into some sort of guided
[01:17:45] thing where you get accountability and
[01:17:47] you get feedback,
[01:17:50] the sooner you start to learn how to do
[01:17:51] things the right way. And there’s a
[01:17:53] phrase that I have a little bit of beef
[01:17:55] with, Logan, which is that practice
[01:17:58] makes perfect.
[01:18:00] And it doesn’t. Practice doesn’t make
[01:18:02] perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.
[01:18:07] And so it’s this idea that you can get
[01:18:09] really good at doing things the wrong
[01:18:11] way [laughter]
[01:18:12] or you can get really efficient and
[01:18:14] sharp at doing things the
[01:18:18] underperforming way. So there’s like
[01:18:19] this just means there’s a way to learn.
[01:18:21] There’s a way to dribble a basketball.
[01:18:22] There’s a way to ride a bike. And those
[01:18:23] things go a lot quicker and a lot
[01:18:24] easier. And we’re sparing ourselves from
[01:18:27] having to unlearn bad habits
[01:18:30] by jumping into perfect practice as soon
[01:18:33] as we can. So completely understand if
[01:18:35] like financially it’s not a good time.
[01:18:36] totally cool, but also would want to
[01:18:38] challenge what would need to be true.
[01:18:40] Um, and if it’s about like the
[01:18:42] instruction for the level you’re at
[01:18:44] personally, I would say like the sooner
[01:18:46] you get into something like that, the
[01:18:48] sooner you get to start perfect
[01:18:50] practice, so to speak.
[01:18:51] >> So good. And I see a comment here from
[01:18:54] Sally’s Garden Solutions, and she said,
[01:18:55] “Elite is a gamecher. You still have to
[01:18:59] do the work.” And I love that, Nathan,
[01:19:01] because yes, it is work. It is putting
[01:19:04] in work, but just like you said, it’s
[01:19:06] putting in the right work to truly grow
[01:19:07] your channel and reach the right
[01:19:09] audience. You are trying to serve and
[01:19:11] you are trying to connect with and that
[01:19:12] is really how you get to the next stage
[01:19:14] is by finding the right audience and
[01:19:16] connecting with your true niche, your
[01:19:19] true um community. And so I love that,
[01:19:21] Sally, that you understand that you
[01:19:23] still have to do the work, but Elite
[01:19:25] really just helps you implement the
[01:19:27] right foundation like you’re talking
[01:19:28] about, Nathan, and the right techniques.
[01:19:30] It’s like I could go and learn how to
[01:19:32] play the drums with the worst technique
[01:19:34] ever and I would suck at playing drums
[01:19:36] because I practiced a lot but I
[01:19:38] practiced wrong. And so I know we see a
[01:19:41] lot of creators also that are like,
[01:19:43] “Hey, I’ve been at this YouTube thing
[01:19:44] for a while. What in the heck is going
[01:19:47] on? Why can’t I get to this next phase
[01:19:49] or this next step?” And I know
[01:19:50] personally for me, Nathan, it’s like,
[01:19:53] >> oh, hey, there was just like one or two
[01:19:54] things you needed to tweak, but you
[01:19:55] needed someone in your corner to be able
[01:19:57] to call out the blind spot because I
[01:19:59] don’t know if you’re here and you’ve
[01:20:01] been doing this a while and maybe you
[01:20:03] feel like you’re trying new things or
[01:20:05] you just feel stunted in your channel
[01:20:07] growth. It is really so gamechanging to
[01:20:10] have somebody else from the outside
[01:20:11] looking in with no maybe not a passion
[01:20:13] for your niche either to just
[01:20:14] objectively look at your channel, your
[01:20:16] analytics, and say, “Hey, what if we try
[01:20:19] this? Hey, what if we implement this
[01:20:20] instead? And so, anyways, Nathan, what
[01:20:23] do you have to say about that?
[01:20:24] >> No, nailed it. I mean, you you hit the
[01:20:26] nail on the head. And so, and Sally,
[01:20:29] also, you’re a legend, by the way. Uh,
[01:20:31] Sally has had some great great growth,
[01:20:33] has been monetized, and I don’t want to
[01:20:36] call you out, Sally, even though I guess
[01:20:37] we are in a live stream right now, but
[01:20:39] um, how old are you, Sally? Would you
[01:20:42] mind sharing? And how old were you when
[01:20:44] you got monetized and started YouTube?
[01:20:46] Because you are a legend. You are a
[01:20:48] legend. You’re like Sherry. You’re like
[01:20:50] so many students of ours that actually
[01:20:52] put in the work because you nailed it,
[01:20:54] Logan. It’s going to take effort either
[01:20:55] way. And so I’d rather like be sweating
[01:20:58] in an environment that at least means
[01:21:01] I’m doing things the like my sweat goes
[01:21:03] further. This is that’s the weirdest
[01:21:05] sentence I think I’ve ever said on a
[01:21:06] live stream. But like you know what I’m
[01:21:07] saying? Like where it’s actually worth
[01:21:08] it because the cool thing too is not
[01:21:11] doing this alone. That’s why I love
[01:21:12] co-op mode. Like it’s almost Yes. the
[01:21:15] our 2x your growth thing is legit by the
[01:21:18] way. We honor that and it’s real and
[01:21:19] it’s I think really shows how uh how
[01:21:22] much we want to show up and partner with
[01:21:24] you. But it’s also just about like not
[01:21:26] doing this thing alone. How many people
[01:21:27] can you nerd out with about this YouTube
[01:21:29] thing and getting to have that sort of
[01:21:31] set time every week or every other week
[01:21:33] to meet with people to nerd out to just
[01:21:35] connect with other people. Like our
[01:21:37] coaches are legends, Logan. I know you
[01:21:39] know that. But I know you know firsthand
[01:21:41] like being head of our student success
[01:21:43] like the most valuable relationships are
[01:21:46] often the ones of just your fellow
[01:21:48] comrades, right? The person who’s just
[01:21:50] doing it too and decided to jump in and
[01:21:52] it was a little scary to spend the money
[01:21:53] because it’s like I want to get results
[01:21:55] but I’m serious and so I’m take I’m
[01:21:57] trusting Nathan. I’m going to trust
[01:21:58] Logan. I’m going to trust Think Media.
[01:22:00] I’m going to go for it, you know, like
[01:22:01] here we go. To be around those people
[01:22:04] too and to be around people who could
[01:22:06] just be one step ahead of you. Those are
[01:22:08] the it’s just those are the environments
[01:22:10] you got to get yourself in. And so I
[01:22:11] understand financial stuff. I really do.
[01:22:13] Like you saw my budget like that line
[01:22:16] item was on my budget. And something I
[01:22:17] didn’t share in my story just for time
[01:22:19] sake was that I almost canled it and my
[01:22:22] wife was the person who said not yet. I
[01:22:24] almost canceled it because I wasn’t
[01:22:27] seeing results and it’s because I wasn’t
[01:22:29] putting in the work. So she was my coach
[01:22:31] in the moment to be like give it another
[01:22:33] try, man. It’s been like three months,
[01:22:35] you know? So to be able to be with
[01:22:37] someone, to have the accountability to
[01:22:39] share your wins with, but to share the
[01:22:41] losses with is just I think the best way
[01:22:44] to go about doing this whole YouTube
[01:22:46] thing because it can be incredibly
[01:22:47] discouraging, you know.
[01:22:49] >> Yes, you did call her out. She did
[01:22:51] respond. She started YouTube at 67 and
[01:22:55] now just a short year later, she’s 68.
[01:22:58] And Nathan, she just hit 4,000
[01:22:59] subscribers because she had an outlier
[01:23:02] video. Her goal was to reach 3,000
[01:23:04] subscribers by the end of summer. Her
[01:23:06] videos launching, the last time I looked
[01:23:08] at it, it had 58,000 views and she
[01:23:10] gained a heck of a lot of subscribers.
[01:23:12] So, just recently, Sally hit 4,000
[01:23:14] subscribers. She’s fully monetized and
[01:23:16] 68. Sally, that is why you’re a legend.
[01:23:20] [laughter]
[01:23:21] >> Sally, this overexposed glow behind me
[01:23:23] is for you. This is your aura right now.
[01:23:26] This is crazy. That’s awesome. What are
[01:23:28] we talking about?
[01:23:29] >> Yeah. So, so cool. Okay, this is the
[01:23:31] probably the least uh techy question
[01:23:34] here, but somebody said, “Okay, but why
[01:23:37] does Nathan look like AI?” [laughter]
[01:23:41] >> One of our team members was like, “Is
[01:23:42] your coffee AI?” And I’m like, “No, it’s
[01:23:44] I don’t know what I need to do.”
[01:23:45] [laughter] Like, I mean, I’m Yes. It was
[01:23:47] really a
[01:23:47] >> compliment though. I’m like,
[01:23:49] >> “Hey, I guess so. Thanks. Thank you.”
[01:23:51] Yeah.
[01:23:51] >> Yes. Okay. Okay, I have a couple
[01:23:53] questions here from Stacy and these are
[01:23:55] YouTube related and I have her channel
[01:23:57] also if we need to pull it up because
[01:23:59] she has questions about thumbnails.
[01:24:01] >> Let’s go.
[01:24:03] >> Do you recommend all of the thumbnails
[01:24:04] to match on the channel or can they be
[01:24:06] individual? For example, on my channel I
[01:24:08] do small batch recipes. Should all of
[01:24:10] the thumbnails be recipe photos? M if on
[01:24:15] your channel you do small batch recipes
[01:24:17] um and you’re saying recommend all the
[01:24:19] thumbnails match. I guess the the
[01:24:23] question I’m assuming you mean Stacy and
[01:24:24] we’re we’re hanging out now so like drop
[01:24:25] it in the chat. Um like are you talking
[01:24:28] about like a specific style like a
[01:24:30] branding play like all your thumbnails
[01:24:33] have the same sort of font or same sort
[01:24:34] of color or same sort of layout and
[01:24:36] you’re swapping the images or text based
[01:24:39] on the small batch recipe that you’re
[01:24:41] doing? If so, I’m gonna That’s what a
[01:24:43] lot of pe a lot of people. Okay, Stacy
[01:24:45] said yes. Okay, cool. So, if that’s what
[01:24:46] you’re saying, and this is a great
[01:24:47] question. I like that. I like that and I
[01:24:51] don’t like that. Let’s break it down. I
[01:24:53] like that because that’s a system, a way
[01:24:56] of templatizing your creation process,
[01:24:59] which is so good. I don’t like it
[01:25:02] because sometimes we will stop
[01:25:04] experimenting and we’ll rely on the
[01:25:07] template
[01:25:09] and we could be missing the fact that
[01:25:11] it’s not converting as well. So, what do
[01:25:13] you do, Stacy? It’s like if we were
[01:25:14] hanging out one-on-one, it’s like, okay,
[01:25:15] cool. Uh, and depending on your channel,
[01:25:18] can we I’ll pull up or do you have her
[01:25:19] channel? I can pull it up here really
[01:25:21] quick. Ah, look at you, Logan. What a
[01:25:22] ninja. Okay, let’s go. Can we go to most
[01:25:25] popular videos just to see? Okay. Wow.
[01:25:28] Here we go. 40,000 subscribers.
[01:25:30] Heck yeah. Okay, so here’s Okay, this is
[01:25:33] I love this. Okay, this is why coaching
[01:25:35] matters so much, Logan is like what
[01:25:36] we’re doing right now.
[01:25:38] You can intake vanilla YouTube strategy
[01:25:41] from anybody and everybody, including
[01:25:42] me, by the way, including the talk that
[01:25:44] I just the teaching I just shared. But
[01:25:46] nothing beats the personalization. This
[01:25:48] is why coaching matter. This is what
[01:25:49] perfect practice means. Are you even
[01:25:51] practicing the right way for you? So for
[01:25:53] Stacy specifically, I can already tell
[01:25:55] you what to do. I like the templates
[01:25:57] because it again helps your creation
[01:25:59] process, but I don’t like it because of
[01:26:01] where your channel is at. Your channel
[01:26:02] is is at a size and a view count, not
[01:26:05] just in your popular videos, but what I
[01:26:07] saw even in your latest top eight. We
[01:26:09] need to be thumbnail testing if you’re
[01:26:11] not already. So, especially thumbnail
[01:26:13] testing, because you would want to have
[01:26:15] one of those thumbnails anchor around
[01:26:17] this template and at least another slot
[01:26:20] in your thumbnail should be purposefully
[01:26:22] pushing the envelope. It should be like
[01:26:24] a I love the option of a wildcard slot
[01:26:27] in thumbnail AB testing which again
[01:26:30] super specific to you Stacy because of
[01:26:32] your subscriber count your view velocity
[01:26:33] that I could see right there. We need to
[01:26:35] be AB testing because I’m assuming
[01:26:38] you’re getting enough impressions to
[01:26:39] warrant it. Whenever you AB test you’re
[01:26:41] splitting your the impressions there.
[01:26:43] So,
[01:26:45] one of those slots, let it be the
[01:26:46] template, but let at least another slot
[01:26:50] be an experiment. Be something that’s
[01:26:52] not a template. And you don’t have to do
[01:26:54] that necessarily every video, but at
[01:26:56] least every couple, every few videos,
[01:26:59] honestly, Stacy, I would do a test like
[01:27:00] that. And if you want to make it like
[01:27:02] cold data,
[01:27:05] facts don’t lie, just do two. One
[01:27:07] thumbnail is the templated version,
[01:27:09] branded version. Another thumbnail is
[01:27:11] trying something different. see what
[01:27:12] wins because then over time you’re
[01:27:14] eventually going to establish a new
[01:27:16] template, a new brand if you can find
[01:27:19] out what works and what doesn’t. So
[01:27:21] that’s probably the answer that I would
[01:27:22] say. Um don’t don’t uh don’t um sorry,
[01:27:27] what should I say? Don’t skip out on
[01:27:28] testing. Don’t stop experimenting,
[01:27:30] especially to your stage. That is how
[01:27:31] you will continue to grow to get a
[01:27:33] silver play button. View counts
[01:27:34] continuing to rise um is by testing. So
[01:27:38] >> awesome. Love it, Nathan. And I know
[01:27:39] you’re big too about each video performs
[01:27:42] by itself. So I know that she has day
[01:27:43] 25, day 26, like she’s doing a string of
[01:27:47] them. And Nathan, you’ll hear him often
[01:27:49] saying each video performs by itself. So
[01:27:51] even if you make a part two, that
[01:27:53] doesn’t mean you have to have the same
[01:27:55] template for all of those 25 videos. Um,
[01:27:58] and if you are just jumping in here onto
[01:28:00] the podcast channel, hello. We are
[01:28:03] talking all things YouTube right now.
[01:28:04] We’re doing a little bit of Q&A with
[01:28:05] none other than Nathan Eswine right now
[01:28:08] and the live chat. We also have a um
[01:28:11] promo going for our elite coaching
[01:28:13] program here at Think Media, kind of our
[01:28:15] co-op mode. So, I just wanted to say if
[01:28:16] you’re jumping in, head over to
[01:28:18] myviralvidecoach.com. You can connect
[01:28:20] with our team. We’re doing 50% off,
[01:28:23] which is honestly kind of insane,
[01:28:24] Nathan. Um so, you get six months, get
[01:28:26] the other six months free, which means
[01:28:27] hey, we want to partner with you this
[01:28:29] next year to over 2x times grow your
[01:28:32] YouTube channel. We also have a free
[01:28:34] channel assessment for you over there.
[01:28:36] So again, myviralvidecoach.com
[01:28:39] and we are doing some Q&A. So Nathan, I
[01:28:41] will ceue up the next one for you here.
[01:28:45] >> And this is kind of going back to the
[01:28:47] stages and what you are teaching on. So
[01:28:49] this is Kevin ADHD life now. He said,
[01:28:52] “If you’re doing a CTA asking to
[01:28:54] subscribe and like the video, where do
[01:28:56] you recommend to put the CTA for a
[01:28:58] freebie or a product?”
[01:29:01] Love this question, man. Okay. Um,
[01:29:06] my brain is going a million miles an
[01:29:08] hour. Let’s start here. Uh, where do you
[01:29:10] do the CTA for a freebie or a product?
[01:29:12] Let’s start there. I would jump in and
[01:29:14] say
[01:29:16] that call to action is the most
[01:29:18] important call to action. Not that
[01:29:20] liking and subscribing is a bad thing to
[01:29:22] do, but as a business owner in a
[01:29:25] YouTuber’s costume, which is how I’m
[01:29:26] talking to you because you want to make
[01:29:27] this thing sustainable and grow into
[01:29:29] something, the most important call to
[01:29:32] action we can do in a YouTube video is
[01:29:33] going to be the latter of what you just
[01:29:35] said there. Like for a freebie, direct
[01:29:37] to a product, discovery call, what
[01:29:39] whatever it is in your niche.
[01:29:41] So that gets the priority, which means
[01:29:43] it gets priority placement. in priority
[01:29:46] placement for a call to action is going
[01:29:48] to be anything between like that 30% to
[01:29:51] 40% mark at least by halfway before
[01:29:54] halfway through your video
[01:29:57] giving a call to action towards the
[01:29:58] priority. Why? Because that’s where most
[01:30:00] people will have been bought in. You
[01:30:02] would have already given of some value.
[01:30:04] People would have started to know you,
[01:30:05] maybe start to like you. You know, it’s
[01:30:07] like we’re all of us are judging
[01:30:08] whenever we watch videos. I know it.
[01:30:09] It’s fine. Like you probably judge me
[01:30:11] when you jump in and it’s all good. I’m
[01:30:12] cool with it. But we know that everyone
[01:30:14] does this on our videos. So by that 30,
[01:30:17] 40, 50% max mark in a YouTube video, do
[01:30:21] the primary call to action, which would
[01:30:23] be to your freebie or your lead magnet
[01:30:25] or, you know, uh, direct to a sales page
[01:30:27] or anything like that. If you do
[01:30:28] something that’s like liking and
[01:30:29] subscribing,
[01:30:32] if you’re doing it all in the same
[01:30:33] video, which I think is possible, I
[01:30:35] would just put those to be a little bit
[01:30:36] later in the video. You can also get
[01:30:38] sneaky. You can also get sneaky. I’m
[01:30:41] throwing a lot at you because we’re just
[01:30:42] coaching, man. You could also get sneaky
[01:30:45] and have the because there’s different
[01:30:47] ways you deliver a call to action,
[01:30:50] verbal or nonverbal. So, you could do a
[01:30:53] verbal call to action to the priority,
[01:30:57] placing it before halfway. So, you’re
[01:31:00] actually saying in your video, kind of
[01:31:01] like the example I gave, Shaker Bottle,
[01:31:03] by the way, restocked link in the
[01:31:05] description.
[01:31:07] But then you can have a non-verbal call
[01:31:08] to action to like and subscribe, which
[01:31:10] I’m sure all of us have seen, which is
[01:31:11] like a little lower thirds thing that
[01:31:13] would like pop up right here. The person
[01:31:16] that the creator on screen isn’t saying
[01:31:18] like and subscribe. It’s like this
[01:31:19] textbased thing, animated thing,
[01:31:22] graphics thing says like and subscribe.
[01:31:25] So you can sneak that in in the
[01:31:26] beginning
[01:31:28] while you’re delivering value and then
[01:31:30] verbally do a call to action to your
[01:31:33] freebie or whatever it is. And then you
[01:31:35] can always do another like and subscribe
[01:31:36] as you got further into the video. But
[01:31:39] then the best call to action, it’s good
[01:31:40] for everybody. The best call to action
[01:31:42] we could all do at the end of our video
[01:31:45] is point people to another one of our
[01:31:47] videos. It’s the best thing you can do.
[01:31:50] Like
[01:31:51] some people will say end screens are
[01:31:53] dead. They’re not dead. The dedicated
[01:31:56] people that will have watched your video
[01:31:57] and hear you say, “By the way, shaker
[01:32:00] bottles are cool, but have you tried
[01:32:02] like these glass mason jars? [laughter]
[01:32:04] And I’m just riffing right now. Click or
[01:32:06] tap the screen right here and I’ll meet
[01:32:07] you in there and we can talk about like
[01:32:08] how to whatever. I’m just riffing. But
[01:32:10] like now you’re increasing session time.
[01:32:12] So we just covered a lot there, but I’m
[01:32:14] trying to like trying to give you
[01:32:15] everything. Priority placement for the
[01:32:17] most important call to action. And as a
[01:32:19] business owner and YouTuber’s costume,
[01:32:20] it’s not on platform engagement. It’s
[01:32:22] not liking. It’s not subscribing. It’s
[01:32:24] not leave a comment. It’s not turn on
[01:32:25] your notification bells. Who cares?
[01:32:27] Priority placement is the freebie, the
[01:32:30] thing, the whatever, your product, your
[01:32:31] service. Boom. that gets placement
[01:32:33] verbally before halfway on platform
[01:32:37] calls to like engagement calls to
[01:32:39] actions for on platform liking
[01:32:40] subscribing. Those can be woven in in
[01:32:43] many different ways. Non-verbal as text
[01:32:45] on screen in the beginning or verbal as
[01:32:48] you get further into the video. So,
[01:32:52] if you have follow-ups, let me know. But
[01:32:53] hopefully that that was helpful. I love
[01:32:55] nerding out about that stuff.
[01:32:56] >> Yeah, I got one and I feel like the
[01:32:57] answer is yes, but I just want to run it
[01:32:59] past you. Would the CPA for asking
[01:33:00] people to join your Patreon follow the
[01:33:02] same pattern as the freebie or product?
[01:33:04] So, off the platform,
[01:33:06] >> 100% nailed it. Yes, exact same pattern.
[01:33:08] So, think about it.
[01:33:09] >> The pattern is priority placement. So,
[01:33:11] it’s almost like you have to create this
[01:33:13] new note if you don’t already have some
[01:33:15] sort of template for like scripting your
[01:33:17] videos out. It’s like it’s you got to
[01:33:18] add a new slot that says what is the
[01:33:21] call to action. By the way, this is how
[01:33:22] we work internally at Think Media. Um
[01:33:25] Sean, our founder and CEO has like
[01:33:28] brainwashed all of us
[01:33:30] so that we don’t start a script or an
[01:33:32] outline for a video without first
[01:33:35] answering the question, what is the call
[01:33:36] to action? [laughter] It’s just the way
[01:33:38] we do things at Think Media. And it’s
[01:33:39] this business builder way of doing
[01:33:41] YouTube videos. You have to answer that.
[01:33:43] So if it’s a Patreon sign up, that is
[01:33:47] the call to action and it gets priority
[01:33:49] placement. And we already talked about
[01:33:50] where to put that, but it’s like you got
[01:33:52] to remind yourself because otherwise
[01:33:53] you’ll forget. And this is why having a
[01:33:54] coach is helpful because one of the
[01:33:56] first things we’ll do, Logan, is like,
[01:33:57] “Well, what’s the call to action?” And
[01:33:59] the number of times people are like,
[01:34:00] “Oh, I didn’t think about that.” You
[01:34:03] know what I mean? So, yes, same format,
[01:34:05] same pattern for the priority.
[01:34:07] >> Amazing. The transporter room. Chris,
[01:34:09] thank you for your question. Here’s from
[01:34:11] Prepstetters. For starting a second
[01:34:13] channel that’s similar, but a different
[01:34:16] vein on YouTube, should I create a
[01:34:17] separate account or just another channel
[01:34:20] under my main account?
[01:34:23] second similar but different vein. Feel
[01:34:26] free to drop a little bit more context
[01:34:27] there. That’s what I’m held up on. But
[01:34:30] dominantly when it’s talking about like
[01:34:31] creating a separate account or a
[01:34:33] different channel, I always phrase that
[01:34:35] not as a channel question, but as an
[01:34:37] audience question. So like take yourself
[01:34:39] out of the equation just for a minute
[01:34:40] and think through, okay, am I trying to
[01:34:43] reach a new audience with this new
[01:34:45] channel? And that helps the answer get
[01:34:48] really clear because if it’s like I’m
[01:34:49] going to use an extreme example. If I am
[01:34:51] going from sourdough baking to
[01:34:54] kettlebell fitness,
[01:34:56] those are different audiences, right? So
[01:34:58] I’m I’m going to make a new channel
[01:34:59] because I’m not going to try to do all
[01:35:01] that on the same channel. Um okay,
[01:35:03] second vein is more ministry related, a
[01:35:07] daily devotional. Yeah. Um
[01:35:09] >> here’s her channel, too. Thanks so much,
[01:35:12] Logan. You read my mind. Okay.
[01:35:16] health. So, health hacks,
[01:35:18] >> prepsteaders, homesteading, like getting
[01:35:20] your emergency kit together kind of is
[01:35:22] what it is with her faith and morals and
[01:35:25] beliefs woven into the channel as well.
[01:35:27] I would say just from the way she
[01:35:29] communicates, but not necessarily um
[01:35:31] daily devotionals right now.
[01:35:33] >> 100%. Okay. Yeah. So, there’s two ways
[01:35:35] to play this then. Um you ready for
[01:35:38] this? Here’s something. Oh my goodness.
[01:35:39] And especially at the channel size
[01:35:40] you’re at. Let’s go. But this is good
[01:35:42] for anybody almost no matter the stage
[01:35:44] probably especially like two stage two
[01:35:47] and beyond
[01:35:49] before you make a decision like this get
[01:35:51] coaching and ask. So like cheers and
[01:35:53] I’ll keep giving you some coaching. But
[01:35:56] your uh next homework assignment is like
[01:35:59] right now create a community tab post
[01:36:02] with a poll so it’s easy for people to
[01:36:04] click and it’s easy data for you to ask
[01:36:07] this question. If I were to start a
[01:36:10] devotional series, blah blah blah, you
[01:36:12] know, don’t make it too long, just
[01:36:14] enough of a just enough to gauge
[01:36:15] interest. If I were to make a blah blah
[01:36:17] series, would you be interested? Would
[01:36:19] you watch? Would you watch it? Would you
[01:36:21] tune in? However you’d phrase it. And
[01:36:23] it’s like yes, no. That’s the best
[01:36:24] because it’s clean. You know what I
[01:36:25] mean? Or you have yes, no, something
[01:36:27] else. You can have people drop in at
[01:36:30] your channel size and the view counts
[01:36:32] that you have gotten historically and
[01:36:33] are getting consistently.
[01:36:35] You have you have the best asset in the
[01:36:37] world. It’s your audience. Ask them.
[01:36:39] They’ll tell you. You know what I mean?
[01:36:41] And like if they because it’s one thing
[01:36:43] for me to give you coaching. It’s
[01:36:44] another thing for your audience just to
[01:36:46] tell you what’s up. So do that and
[01:36:48] probably do it a couple times. Drop a
[01:36:50] post that’s a yes no after you get some
[01:36:52] information. Do another question in the
[01:36:54] next couple days. Like two or three days
[01:36:55] from now. Drop another question. And
[01:36:57] it’s like on the de if I did on the
[01:36:59] devotional series if it looked like this
[01:37:02] or that. Like literally ask your
[01:37:04] audience for what they would tune in for
[01:37:06] so that you know if you can if you can
[01:37:09] you can do whatever you want you you’re
[01:37:11] the CEO of your YouTube channel even if
[01:37:13] you’re at a different stage that way you
[01:37:15] know if it’s like if your people jive
[01:37:17] with it because it’s also then okay I’m
[01:37:19] sorry Logan I’m just going but it’s like
[01:37:21] it’s also you have to jump up another
[01:37:23] level. I would ask you if we were
[01:37:24] one-on-one what’s the point? Not in a
[01:37:27] like a uh not in a way that I’m trying
[01:37:29] to like second guess you or come down on
[01:37:31] you, but it was like my job as a coach.
[01:37:33] No, no, no. Like anything we choose to
[01:37:35] do with our YouTube channel, be it new
[01:37:38] content formats, new series, what
[01:37:39] purpose does it serve? It’s just like
[01:37:41] your job. And so, and that could be
[01:37:43] Nathan, it’s just pure enjoyment.
[01:37:45] Heck yeah, we have an answer. Pure
[01:37:47] enjoyment. You know what I mean? Put
[01:37:48] that in the mission log and then go for
[01:37:50] it. But
[01:37:52] actually making sure that what you’re
[01:37:54] mapping to, like if you do this series,
[01:37:56] it’s going to take time, it’s going to
[01:37:57] whatever. Just being clear on what you
[01:37:58] want it to do so that you can measure it
[01:38:00] properly because most likely, I could be
[01:38:02] wrong because it’s a different topic by
[01:38:05] nature. It’s like you said, same vein.
[01:38:06] It’s still you. People would probably be
[01:38:09] tuning in for you. You could still bring
[01:38:11] in a new audience off of these videos,
[01:38:13] but I would not judge it by the same
[01:38:15] view counts you would typically judge
[01:38:17] your other videos. like have a number in
[01:38:20] your head like oh if I got like half the
[01:38:21] views I typically get that’s a good sign
[01:38:23] if I have a quarter of the whatever it
[01:38:25] is like I would have those two things so
[01:38:27] number one ask your audience best data
[01:38:29] in the world ask them several times and
[01:38:32] then the second thing clarify the
[01:38:34] objective even I know it sounds a little
[01:38:36] cold with something that’s ministry
[01:38:37] driven like believer myself but I am
[01:38:39] also a coach and I think that for you to
[01:38:42] be able to spend your time on a video
[01:38:44] like this it should serve a purpose even
[01:38:47] if it’s just fulfillment for you and
[01:38:48] feeling like it’s on mission. That’s a
[01:38:50] totally acceptable answer. But then just
[01:38:53] be careful not to judge this new series
[01:38:55] the same way you judge typical content.
[01:38:57] >> So
[01:38:58] >> so great. She has been a part of the
[01:39:00] Think Media sphere for years. I feel
[01:39:03] like it’s been a hot second since I’ve
[01:39:04] seen Christa in the chat. So I was glad
[01:39:06] to see her and she said, “This is so
[01:39:08] helpful. Thank you. We’re so glad you
[01:39:10] made it today and glad that that that
[01:39:12] was fruitful for you and where you’re
[01:39:13] at.” Okay, I’ve got kind of one that is
[01:39:15] in a similar vein. Kind of nuanced.
[01:39:18] Probably just going to be a quick
[01:39:19] answer. Is it better to start a new
[01:39:22] channel, Nathan, or just go with your
[01:39:24] existing one?
[01:39:25] >> Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Here we go. So,
[01:39:28] this is in the air right now, Logan.
[01:39:31] Right. Like, okay.
[01:39:33] >> Is it better to start a new channel or
[01:39:36] go with an existing one? I just I’d love
[01:39:39] e even more context. Here’s what I’d say
[01:39:41] in general.
[01:39:44] It’s an It’s an audience question. I’m
[01:39:46] sorry. I’m just going to go back to
[01:39:47] that. It’s an audience question. If you
[01:39:48] have an existing channel that
[01:39:52] up until this point you haven’t really
[01:39:54] taken seriously, you’ve kind of like
[01:39:55] dabbled on and off and it’s been years
[01:39:56] and it’s been what been whatever. By the
[01:39:58] way, if you’re still here, subscribe to
[01:40:00] the podcast channel right here where
[01:40:01] we’re streaming from. Uh Thursday we’re
[01:40:04] dropping an episode where I interviewed
[01:40:06] one of our students. His name is Matt.
[01:40:08] His name is Matt Tommy. And this is his
[01:40:10] story. He like literally woke up a
[01:40:12] decade old channel. He just used a
[01:40:15] YouTube channel as storage as like a
[01:40:17] Dropbox. So, he just like put videos up
[01:40:20] there to be able to share with people or
[01:40:22] look back on. And his channel is like
[01:40:25] full explosion right now on this
[01:40:27] 10-year-old channel that had all this
[01:40:29] other stuff on it. So, what I’m trying
[01:40:31] to say by sharing that is you should
[01:40:32] check out that interview. I think it
[01:40:33] could be helpful. give some answers, but
[01:40:35] I also think it’s proof you can it can
[01:40:39] still work on an existing channel. It’s
[01:40:41] just an audience question mostly for me.
[01:40:44] So, if your existing channel has already
[01:40:46] been serving an audience and by starting
[01:40:47] a new one, it would be different. You
[01:40:48] absolutely should do a new channel.
[01:40:51] That’s the YouTube strategy answer.
[01:40:54] What I would say is just like your
[01:40:55] homie, [laughter] if I could like say it
[01:40:57] like that, is like your little YouTube
[01:41:00] big YouTube brother.
[01:41:02] If you need to do a new channel because
[01:41:04] it’s going to help with your mental
[01:41:05] state, do it. This is something I don’t
[01:41:08] think this is what I I I hope to be true
[01:41:12] that makes Think Media Coaching
[01:41:13] different is I’m just going to care
[01:41:15] about you before I care about the
[01:41:16] algorithm.
[01:41:18] So, I can give you a YouTube answer. I
[01:41:21] already did that. But I think the deeper
[01:41:23] question is sometimes
[01:41:26] if you started a new channel, it’s
[01:41:28] because there’s a sense of a blank slate
[01:41:30] as a creator, like a fresh start, a new
[01:41:33] direction. And I’m all about that. All
[01:41:36] about that all day long. That’s a moment
[01:41:38] where I’m like, who cares about the what
[01:41:41] you about what the algorithm or what
[01:41:43] YouTube do what you need to do so you
[01:41:45] can go this way and like market new
[01:41:47] channel this direction. Heck yeah, I’m
[01:41:49] fully behind you. So, those are two
[01:41:51] answers I’d give. You decide. Is it more
[01:41:53] of a personal thing? Blank slate. Go for
[01:41:55] it. If it’s pure YouTube, you’re like,
[01:41:57] “No, dude. I’m good. I’m just like,
[01:41:58] what’s best for the algorithm?” Um,
[01:42:01] doesn’t matter. Unless it’s a different
[01:42:02] audience, then start a new channel.
[01:42:05] >> Thank you, Nathan. Yeah, it is in the
[01:42:06] air. We’ve been getting that question
[01:42:08] often and seeing it a lot in the
[01:42:10] comments, too. So, thank you for asking.
[01:42:12] Wander list living. You’re not alone.
[01:42:14] I’m sure that helped somebody else here
[01:42:15] as well. I see Brandon said he’s in
[01:42:18] stage two and that’s been the main
[01:42:20] roadblock. So, thank you, Nathan, for
[01:42:22] helping find that.
[01:42:24] >> Come on, man. I’m glad you’re here.
[01:42:25] Cheering you on, Brandon. It’s awesome.
[01:42:27] >> And with that, he also has another
[01:42:29] question someone here.
[01:42:31] >> And it’s regarding your ASQ method. I
[01:42:34] believe that this was creator one, stage
[01:42:37] one. if you were there, you were saying,
[01:42:38] “Hey, if you need a video idea, ASQ
[01:42:40] style.” And so, he’s asking what that
[01:42:43] could look like for an entertainment
[01:42:44] channel. His setback is trying to find
[01:42:46] out what questions people have within
[01:42:49] his niche. And I’m sure there’s probably
[01:42:51] entertainment channels here that might
[01:42:52] be thinking the same thing, like, how in
[01:42:54] the world am I answering a question when
[01:42:56] I’m trying to entertain people? Um, so
[01:42:59] yeah, if you don’t know who Brandon
[01:43:00] Chang is, he has a Lego channel. So, he
[01:43:02] said, “I try crazy Lego experiments.”
[01:43:04] So, every video is different. 100%. And
[01:43:08] this is helpful [clears throat] because
[01:43:09] I have like a lot of context on your
[01:43:12] channel, Brandon. Was so fun to partner
[01:43:13] together and get you monetized, bro, in
[01:43:15] our time together. Okay, so
[01:43:19] yes, I’m going to start with just like
[01:43:20] the broader entertainment thing and then
[01:43:22] I’m going to come right to you. Okay, so
[01:43:23] broader entertainment. Well, how do I do
[01:43:26] ASQ? I would just replace the word
[01:43:28] questions. I would say like answer
[01:43:30] specific queries, specific topics is
[01:43:34] probably the idea, right? Because even
[01:43:35] in an entertainment channel, there’s
[01:43:37] something that’s anchoring you for most
[01:43:39] entertainment channels. Unless some of
[01:43:40] us are like Logan Paul or whatever, but
[01:43:42] I don’t think that’s this crowd. So,
[01:43:44] here’s a great example. Brandon, your
[01:43:45] channel is crazy Lego experiments,
[01:43:48] right? You’ve done wild stuff like Lego
[01:43:50] bird feeders, Lego fishing poles, right?
[01:43:52] So, here’s the interesting thing. The
[01:43:55] nature of of entertainment, this is your
[01:43:57] channel’s a great example of this is
[01:43:59] like Lego fishing pole.
[01:44:02] I don’t think a lot of people are
[01:44:04] searching for that. So search volume
[01:44:05] would be low, but if you can level up, I
[01:44:09] think for an entertainment channel,
[01:44:11] maybe it’s actually replacing the word
[01:44:12] specific. It’s like answering questions
[01:44:15] because you need to go up, you need to
[01:44:17] go up a couple rungs, I think. How would
[01:44:19] someone find a video that’s like, I made
[01:44:23] a Lego fishing pole. It’s probably
[01:44:25] someone looking for like what? Lego
[01:44:28] builds. That that is an anchor phrase
[01:44:31] for that thing. Lego build. Crazy Lego
[01:44:34] build. you could see if that’s there.
[01:44:35] So, I think you got to go up a level or
[01:44:37] two with the specificity
[01:44:40] because you need to try to I think it’s
[01:44:42] this you label like a category to the
[01:44:45] kind of video that you’re making. So,
[01:44:47] it’s like if we’re just riffing off of
[01:44:48] this example, I think it’s a great one
[01:44:49] to use if you’re going to Okay, you’re
[01:44:52] like, I’m going to make a video about
[01:44:53] like building a Lego fishing pole and
[01:44:55] see if it can actually catch a fish.
[01:44:56] Genius idea. I mean, it was one of your
[01:44:57] most popular videos, right? But it’s
[01:44:59] like if you’re going to make that again,
[01:45:00] that’s your idea then. And even AI could
[01:45:03] help you chop this up or like a coach or
[01:45:04] something is like what category is that
[01:45:07] in? What are the kinds of things that
[01:45:09] people could be looking for that this
[01:45:12] video, this idea could still fit inside?
[01:45:15] So like wild Lego builds, Lego builds,
[01:45:18] um, unique, whatever. Like trying to
[01:45:20] think about the ways people are phrasing
[01:45:21] things and looking for something. But
[01:45:25] that research will definitely help you
[01:45:27] ident be able to label those specific uh
[01:45:30] topic. But it’s also making sure you’re
[01:45:34] this is where we get into the into the
[01:45:35] details a little bit. The nature of
[01:45:37] entertainment content and your content
[01:45:38] specifically is almost like it’s you’re
[01:45:40] you’re making content people didn’t know
[01:45:43] they wanted to click on. I’ll say that
[01:45:45] again. If you’re in more of an
[01:45:47] entertainmentbased niche, often like
[01:45:50] this kind of a thing. I’m making a Lego
[01:45:52] fishing pole to see if it will catch
[01:45:54] fish.
[01:45:55] That’s like a topic that will get
[01:45:57] clicks, but people didn’t know they
[01:45:59] wanted to click on it. So, you try to go
[01:46:02] up the ladder, so to speak, and get away
[01:46:04] from the specificity of Lego fishing
[01:46:06] pole. Maybe there’s search volume there.
[01:46:08] I don’t know. Like, was there that’d be
[01:46:10] interesting. And you just go up to be
[01:46:11] like, what do I classify this build for
[01:46:13] you? this build as this video as
[01:46:17] Lego experiment, crazy Lego build,
[01:46:21] uh, custom Lego, whatever. And you start
[01:46:23] to try to identify those phrases and let
[01:46:26] those be the tags that you would use,
[01:46:28] for example, like to attach to your
[01:46:30] video or to help you just be aware of
[01:46:31] language you can put in your title. Come
[01:46:34] on, somebody. Or your thumbnail. Come
[01:46:37] on. That’s where the game is because
[01:46:39] you’re now connecting. You have this
[01:46:40] idea that people didn’t know they wanted
[01:46:42] to click on under the category that they
[01:46:44] know they’re interested in. We are deep
[01:46:46] right now. Are we tracking? Are we
[01:46:47] following? Like, do you know what I’m
[01:46:49] saying? So, like that’s actually how you
[01:46:50] would do it.
[01:46:53] It’s like you would say Lego fishing
[01:46:54] pole blah blah blah. And it’s like crazy
[01:46:55] Lego build is like in the title or the
[01:46:58] thumbnail potentially. So, I put a lot
[01:47:01] out there. Logan, spare me from
[01:47:04] continuing to go any deeper. But
[01:47:05] Brandon, let me know if that helps.
[01:47:07] [laughter]
[01:47:08] Okay, this one might be a little
[01:47:09] lighter. Nathan, this aunt and she said,
[01:47:12] “Hey, she’s in stage 0 to two and she’s
[01:47:16] looking for a recommendation of how
[01:47:17] often she should be posting on her
[01:47:19] channel.”
[01:47:21] >> Oh, this is really good. Okay, so do you
[01:47:24] Let me see.
[01:47:27] Do you remember that slide that I
[01:47:28] shared? I’ll share my screen here just
[01:47:30] so quick. I’m getting to it. That slide
[01:47:31] that I shared about the consistency. Oh,
[01:47:34] no. I didn’t have it in here. Okay.
[01:47:35] Well, I’ll just tell you about it. So,
[01:47:36] here’s what’s cool.
[01:47:39] Actually, no. Had I I did have it in
[01:47:41] here. I’m I’m getting it. I’m getting
[01:47:42] I’m coming. I’m coming. I’m coming. I’m
[01:47:43] coming. I’m going. I’m going coming.
[01:47:44] Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Yeah. Here we
[01:47:46] go. Okay, this slide.
[01:47:50] Audience watch behavior. This was
[01:47:51] something that recently clicked for me
[01:47:53] and like seeing like, oh, there’s these
[01:47:55] different categories that like YouTube
[01:47:56] will classify based on how people are
[01:47:58] interacting with your videos and your
[01:48:00] channel. I I I like to let YouTube tell
[01:48:04] me what it wants as much as possible. I
[01:48:06] think as a coach it’s irresponsible for
[01:48:07] me to just sit here and guess and
[01:48:09] speculate. So that’s why I’m anchoring
[01:48:10] on this to answer your question. Here’s
[01:48:12] what I think is legit.
[01:48:14] A weekly cadence matters. A weekly
[01:48:18] cadence matters. Now in stage 0 to two,
[01:48:22] this is why the battle is I mean
[01:48:23] especially getting from in stage one
[01:48:25] which is right in the middle between
[01:48:26] these. It’s consistency. That’s your
[01:48:28] biggest roadblock.
[01:48:30] But seeing YouTube say things like six
[01:48:32] months minimum to get regular viewers at
[01:48:35] all that are to get to be able to
[01:48:36] classify people as regular viewers. You
[01:48:38] got five months up here. I told you
[01:48:40] earlier that the most direct stat we can
[01:48:45] find is people quit YouTube between 20
[01:48:46] and 50 videos. And there’s something
[01:48:48] about the 23rd upload that most people
[01:48:51] never get to. Six months is like 26
[01:48:54] weeks.
[01:48:56] And if you did a video a week, right,
[01:49:00] most people quit around just before this
[01:49:02] time period. 23. Like if you did a video
[01:49:05] a week, 23. We follow. I know we’re
[01:49:06] doing math. But there’s something
[01:49:08] interesting about this. What I am
[01:49:11] pulling from this information and just
[01:49:13] my time anecdotally as a coach. I want
[01:49:16] once a week minimum. I do. I want once a
[01:49:20] week minimum long form video that you’ve
[01:49:23] really thought through, you’ve
[01:49:24] researched,
[01:49:26] you hopefully following a process on,
[01:49:28] you are hopefully getting feedback on
[01:49:30] along the way, so you’re doing what you
[01:49:32] know perfect practice or you’re just
[01:49:33] making sure you’re studying what’s
[01:49:34] working. So like a intentional approach
[01:49:36] to YouTube minimum one long form video a
[01:49:40] week.
[01:49:42] That’s what I would say. And I know
[01:49:44] where a lot of people’s head goes. Well,
[01:49:46] what if I can do more? Prove to me you
[01:49:48] can do one a week for like 10 weeks in a
[01:49:51] row and then we can talk about upping
[01:49:53] it. [laughter] Like just like no
[01:49:55] disrespect unless you’re like, “Oh no,
[01:49:56] I’ve been doing once a week for like
[01:49:58] whatever, you know, 20 weeks.” Okay,
[01:50:00] cool. Sure. More is better. I’ll say it.
[01:50:04] I will say it out loud. More is better.
[01:50:08] But that’s a lot to ask for someone like
[01:50:10] zero like stage zero to two to jump
[01:50:12] into. So start with once a week. get
[01:50:15] that under your belt till it feels
[01:50:17] normal and then let’s start talking
[01:50:19] about how we could crank things up. So,
[01:50:20] one a week is what I
[01:50:22] >> Yeah. And can I just say SARS land, it
[01:50:25] will feel normal eventually. It might be
[01:50:28] a hurdle to get there and you might be
[01:50:29] thinking, “Holy smokes, what have I
[01:50:31] gotten myself into? I’m excited, but I’m
[01:50:33] overwhelmed.” And there’s a lot of
[01:50:34] learning pieces in between stage zero
[01:50:37] and two. So, just know if you do have
[01:50:39] those feelings, it’s normal. But that’s
[01:50:41] also why we are so passionate about
[01:50:43] getting around other creators and being
[01:50:45] in community with people who are there
[01:50:47] with you, who have been there, and for
[01:50:48] coaches to call you higher and help hold
[01:50:50] you accountable so you’re not trying to
[01:50:52] figure out all of the pieces by
[01:50:53] yourself. So just know if you do get to
[01:50:55] that point, it’s normal. And we are here
[01:50:57] to help you out as well over in Elite. I
[01:51:00] have a couple more questions for you,
[01:51:01] Nathan, and then I know we’re wrapping
[01:51:03] up, so we’ll kind of rapid fire these,
[01:51:04] which will be hard, but here we go.
[01:51:07] >> Editing is my great wall. How do I learn
[01:51:08] enough to get past it?
[01:51:10] Sorry, I dropped that one. [laughter]
[01:51:14] >> Yeah.
[01:51:15] >> Okay. Editing is the wall. I totally
[01:51:17] understand is how do I learn enough to
[01:51:19] get past it? Okay. I will be honest.
[01:51:21] Editing is one of those things that you
[01:51:23] can get more efficient at and you can
[01:51:25] get better at. But it’s also a
[01:51:27] double-edged sword in my experience
[01:51:28] personally, but then also coaching
[01:51:30] people is as you get better at editing,
[01:51:33] the more you want to do with editing,
[01:51:34] thus the longer it takes. So, it’s like
[01:51:37] as you learn more cool things to do with
[01:51:39] editing and the more efficient you
[01:51:41] become simply because you’re doing it
[01:51:42] more, it’s like you see you you are able
[01:51:45] to do more in your editing software than
[01:51:47] you could have before. So, it still
[01:51:48] takes more time. That’s just one answer.
[01:51:49] So, it’s kind of like one hand is like I
[01:51:53] think it’s helpful to identify the level
[01:51:55] of editing your content actually
[01:51:57] requires
[01:51:59] to benefit the viewer. Hopefully, that’s
[01:52:02] like a gauge that just freed some
[01:52:04] people.
[01:52:07] What is the standard of editing required
[01:52:10] in your niche? And if you’re someone
[01:52:13] like Brandon, you know, man, like if
[01:52:15] you’re in this entertainment niche,
[01:52:17] we’ve him and I have talked about this a
[01:52:18] lot. Like edit, I mean, it really
[01:52:20] matters. Like lots of B-roll, quick
[01:52:21] quick cuts, voice over happening. Like
[01:52:23] it’s it’s just the nature of the niche.
[01:52:25] On the other hand, you’re doing the
[01:52:28] sourdough thing. I don’t know, man. Like
[01:52:30] just what is the view? The viewer just
[01:52:32] needs to really be able to see the the
[01:52:33] jar. needs to see you doing your
[01:52:35] whatever. Like, as long as you can edit
[01:52:38] in a way that simply supports the video
[01:52:41] being valuable to the viewer, it’s
[01:52:44] almost like, especially if you’re
[01:52:45] editing yourself, just set it and forget
[01:52:47] it. Just do that. Just do that. But you
[01:52:50] do need to do some research to see like,
[01:52:51] hey, what’s kind of the standard of
[01:52:53] editing in the niche? What do I what
[01:52:55] what capability level do I really need
[01:52:57] to learn? Because it’s hard to run a
[01:52:59] race when you don’t know where the
[01:53:01] finish line is. So, give yourself a
[01:53:03] finish line. And that’s what I would do
[01:53:04] if we were like one-on-one. I would be
[01:53:05] like, “Hey, let’s establish, okay,
[01:53:06] here’s what it looks like. So, we need
[01:53:08] to be able to use B-roll. We need to be
[01:53:09] able to use some text. And we need to be
[01:53:11] able to have crisp audio or what
[01:53:13] whatever it is, right?” And you’re like,
[01:53:14] “Okay, those are the markers. Let’s work
[01:53:17] on getting those three uh up to
[01:53:19] standard, call it, and then we could
[01:53:21] always go from there.”
[01:53:23] >> Sweet. Hopefully that was insightful.
[01:53:26] And the editing thing can also get
[01:53:28] stalled because of perfectionism. We
[01:53:30] have so many people that are like I just
[01:53:33] don’t understand editing, but I just my
[01:53:35] video is not where I want it to be, so
[01:53:36] I’m not going to post it. And people get
[01:53:38] stuck because it’s not up to their level
[01:53:40] of par. But just like you’re saying,
[01:53:41] Nathan, it takes time and it takes
[01:53:44] muscle memory and really learning. So
[01:53:45] don’t let that hold you back either if
[01:53:47] your video’s not exactly where you want
[01:53:49] it to be because of editing.
[01:53:50] >> Punch perfectionism in the face. Get it
[01:53:53] posted and keep on learning and
[01:53:55] implementing. All right. I wanted to
[01:53:56] pull up this question because I know you
[01:53:58] did an interview recently with Lisa
[01:54:00] Goodwin that I think would fit
[01:54:01] perfectly. So Missy said, “I’m an artist
[01:54:03] at level zero. Needs help with her
[01:54:05] filming setup and she’s not interested
[01:54:07] in being on camera, only filming process
[01:54:10] videos of her art.” Nathan, is that a
[01:54:13] mistake,
[01:54:14] >> Missy? Not at all. I’m so glad you’re
[01:54:15] here because maybe that’s what you
[01:54:16] needed to hear. No, not a mistake at
[01:54:18] all. Um, so I don’t know how familiar
[01:54:20] you you are with Think Media and stuff,
[01:54:22] but this channel, the Think Podcast
[01:54:24] channel, I just did an interview with
[01:54:25] one of our students, Lisa, um, that I
[01:54:28] would totally go check out. It’s like
[01:54:29] one of the recent uploads. Um, and I
[01:54:31] think it’s like how this grandma makes
[01:54:33] 40K or something like that, but it’s on
[01:54:36] her channel. I would go check it out.
[01:54:37] This is literally someone who has found
[01:54:39] success veteran on on on YouTube. Their
[01:54:42] whole family is full-time YouTube
[01:54:44] creators. You’d love it. And is actually
[01:54:46] like your in the same niche. So, she
[01:54:48] would be cool to to check out simply
[01:54:50] because she’s someone who’s a little
[01:54:52] further along potentially, but it’s not
[01:54:54] a mistake. You don’t have to be on
[01:54:56] camera. Um, and filming process videos
[01:54:59] is incredibly valuable. Incredibly
[01:55:01] valuable. It’s actually kind of like,
[01:55:04] this might sound crazy. I do think if
[01:55:05] you can have your face on camera, I
[01:55:07] think it really helps. I think it’s you
[01:55:09] I would choose that over not having your
[01:55:11] face. But that doesn’t mean not showing
[01:55:14] your face is a bad thing. In fact, it
[01:55:16] can be more valuable
[01:55:18] because it’s actually less distracting
[01:55:20] for the viewer. You’re just seeing your
[01:55:21] hands. You’re just seeing how the
[01:55:22] process works. And that’s what a lot of
[01:55:24] Lisa’s content is. Um, ensure her
[01:55:27] channel
[01:55:29] too is in the interview. I think it’s or
[01:55:31] maybe if Logan if you find it, I’m sure
[01:55:32] Lisa would be fine with that. Like if we
[01:55:34] dropped her channel in the chat so that
[01:55:36] Missy could go just snoop around. Um,
[01:55:38] she does some videos with her face, but
[01:55:40] most of them are faceless. So stick with
[01:55:42] the process videos, but maybe study some
[01:55:43] of her popular videos to see how she’s
[01:55:45] doing it because I do know the filming
[01:55:48] setup is legit. And also, by the way, in
[01:55:50] the podcast, the video version of the
[01:55:52] interview on the channel, you can uh as
[01:55:55] you’re watching, we uh Lisa sent us an
[01:55:58] image of her setup. So, like she has
[01:56:02] this top down rig that she put together
[01:56:05] and she shows where her camera is, she
[01:56:06] shows where the desk is. And so, in
[01:56:07] terms of like coming up with the filming
[01:56:09] setup, you could literally see hers
[01:56:10] there. And we talk about it in the
[01:56:12] interview, too. So, cheers, though.
[01:56:15] >> Awesome, Nathan. What an incredible
[01:56:18] session today. What an incredible
[01:56:19] teaching. And I love the Q&A. I love
[01:56:21] getting to see creators here in the
[01:56:23] Think Media community and what’s going
[01:56:25] on in their lives. And if you are maybe
[01:56:28] joined in late here, Nathan covered five
[01:56:30] stages on YouTube and how to really
[01:56:33] ultimately grow to being full-time
[01:56:35] making 10,000 a month. So this whole entire
[01:56:47] session um was really helping you get
[01:56:49] through each stage traveling from stage
[01:56:52] zero as a creator to stage five. And
[01:56:55] Nathan I this will be my last thing that
[01:56:57] I say here and I feel like it’s a great
[01:56:59] parting word from prepsteaders. One
[01:57:01] thing is certain this is almost
[01:57:02] impossible to do alone.
[01:57:04] >> And gosh cuz we just so passionate about
[01:57:07] getting people around you and um not
[01:57:10] doing this YouTube thing alone cuz
[01:57:12] really it’s just hard. It can be tricky
[01:57:13] mentally. it can be tricky um trying to
[01:57:16] grow your channel and maybe you’re
[01:57:18] trying to grow quicker so you can quit
[01:57:20] your job and go full-time on YouTube.
[01:57:22] So, we just really feel like it’s
[01:57:24] imperative to have people around you in
[01:57:25] community who are also YouTubers to have
[01:57:28] a coach to call you hire and to get into
[01:57:30] small group coaching. That is what we do
[01:57:32] here at Think Media. And so, we would
[01:57:34] love to see you over in Elite. We’ve got
[01:57:36] the channel assessments going on right
[01:57:38] now with our Think Media team and
[01:57:40] they’ll tell you more as well about
[01:57:41] Elite and the special deal we have going
[01:57:43] on for people specifically on this call
[01:57:46] right now. If you’ve signed up for this
[01:57:47] web class, if you are here on this live
[01:57:49] stream, it is exclusive. It is 50% off.
[01:57:52] So, what that means is we’re going to
[01:57:53] work with you for a whole entire year.
[01:57:55] So, you get six months and you get the
[01:57:57] other six months free, which is insane.
[01:58:00] Nathan mentioned our 2x growth um what
[01:58:04] do you want to call it, Nathan? And I
[01:58:05] can’t recall now, but guarantee. We’re
[01:58:08] guaranteeing that as you work with us
[01:58:10] over the next year, minimum, you’re
[01:58:12] going to 2x your channel growth, which
[01:58:14] is insane. We often see creators far
[01:58:16] surpass that. I know we’ve got a lot of
[01:58:18] alumni in the chat here in Elite. And
[01:58:21] so, um, they are testaments to that. But
[01:58:24] with that being said, you can do this
[01:58:26] alone, but don’t don’t do it alone.
[01:58:28] Don’t do something in a 10ear span that
[01:58:31] could take you maybe a year or two with
[01:58:33] people in your corner, with people
[01:58:35] coaching you, giving you insight on your
[01:58:37] analytics, helping you, coaching you,
[01:58:39] and really just cheering you on. We want
[01:58:41] to celebrate with you and it is such a
[01:58:44] privilege to be here with you, Nathan,
[01:58:45] on this training today. I will pass it
[01:58:47] back over to you and thank you all so
[01:58:49] much for being here today and telling us
[01:58:51] more about your channels, dropping your
[01:58:53] YouTube Q&A. Love to connect with you
[01:58:56] all.
[01:58:57] Logan, thank you so much. Can we just
[01:58:59] like clap it up if you’re here? I mean,
[01:59:00] Logan’s amazing. Logan is amazing. And
[01:59:02] this is a good time to call it as this
[01:59:04] glow [laughter]
[01:59:06] is just around me. [gasps] This is
[01:59:08] amazing. Hey, I I just obviously final
[01:59:10] Hey, check this out. Call to action. How
[01:59:12] meta is that? And I know I’m doing at
[01:59:13] the end here, but it’s just kind of a
[01:59:15] final push, a final nudge. You should
[01:59:18] absolutely apply if you’ve already
[01:59:19] started YouTube, whether you’re at stage
[01:59:21] one or not. Um, myviralvidecoach.com.
[01:59:24] You can scan the code here. Link is in
[01:59:26] the chat.
[01:59:28] because
[01:59:30] it’s worth playing on co-op mode. It
[01:59:32] just is. I love how you phrase that.
[01:59:33] Like it’s it’s really not worth doing
[01:59:36] this thing alone. And you can, by the
[01:59:37] way, like I just don’t want to like
[01:59:39] sound like, oh, the only way is to get
[01:59:40] into coaching. I mean, yeah, co we
[01:59:42] already talked about why it’s awesome.
[01:59:43] You can do this alone, but it’s going to
[01:59:45] take a lot longer. [laughter]
[01:59:47] It’s going to be a lot more discouraging
[01:59:49] because it’s just you. And while it is
[01:59:53] possible, it’s kind of like if you’re
[01:59:55] able to, why choose that path? There are
[01:59:58] two paths and you can hang close.
[02:00:01] Episodes we have every week. Think Media
[02:00:02] main channel, Think Media podcast
[02:00:04] channel. But kind of like I hope you got
[02:00:06] to see as we were doing some Q&A here is
[02:00:08] like nothing beats specificity and you
[02:00:10] need that. You you need to know what
[02:00:12] stage you’re in. Just like I was able to
[02:00:14] like just after looking a couple
[02:00:16] channels, view counts, seeing where
[02:00:18] everything’s at, content style, saying,
[02:00:20] “Oh, no. you should go do this. You
[02:00:23] should actually do it this way. That’s
[02:00:25] the power. And that’s why I can just
[02:00:27] take a call or two. And imagine being in
[02:00:29] the environment where every week you get
[02:00:31] the personalization. You get the, “Oh,
[02:00:33] you should go do this. Oh, you should do
[02:00:35] well. You did that last week and the
[02:00:37] analytics said no. So, like, let’s not
[02:00:39] do that thumbnail anymore.” Like, how do
[02:00:40] you know? Right? So, that’s our final
[02:00:43] call here is we’d love to help you if we
[02:00:45] can. We stand by it with our 2x growth
[02:00:48] uh outlier guarantee um because we just
[02:00:50] see this work and often you’re just a
[02:00:52] few tweaks away from stuff and hey
[02:00:55] honestly just keep it like totally real.
[02:00:57] You’re going to be like getting into
[02:00:59] coaching for one year at half off. So
[02:01:00] you have like 12 months for half the
[02:01:02] price and then maybe you don’t need us
[02:01:05] [laughter] like that. Is that cool to
[02:01:07] say? Like maybe you just need coaching
[02:01:09] for a season and it’s time to accelerate
[02:01:11] this thing. Like let’s accelerate man.
[02:01:13] You’re at stage one. Let’s get to four
[02:01:15] over the next 12 months. You know what
[02:01:16] I’m saying? Let’s like by Christmas be
[02:01:19] making money because we’re making
[02:01:20] YouTube videos. There’s no reason you
[02:01:22] couldn’t do that. There’s no reason you
[02:01:23] couldn’t do that. I’ve seen it happen so
[02:01:25] fast and there’s no reason it couldn’t
[02:01:26] happen for you too if you’re in the
[02:01:28] right environment. So, hey, regardless
[02:01:30] though, I just hope you know we’re here.
[02:01:32] Like, think media, man. Something fun to
[02:01:34] know here for the diehard crew at the
[02:01:36] end.
[02:01:38] You can verify this. Sean Kel in Think
[02:01:41] Media is the longest running YouTube
[02:01:44] educator education business period full
[02:01:48] stop in history
[02:01:50] ever because the track record stands
[02:01:53] tens of thousands of students billions
[02:01:55] of views and it’s because we honor what
[02:01:58] we say hopefully you hear our heart
[02:02:00] we’re just on we’re on team you
[02:02:03] [laughter]
[02:02:03] not even really on team think media
[02:02:05] we’re like yeah okay like it’s going to
[02:02:06] cost money but this is like what we do
[02:02:08] you know what I mean so like we’re on
[02:02:09] team U and we’d love to partner up with
[02:02:12] you together. A lot of other educators
[02:02:15] teach such good things, teach such great
[02:02:17] things and have great courses and
[02:02:19] programs,
[02:02:21] but a lot of companies have been sold.
[02:02:24] Other companies still aren’t here. And I
[02:02:27] just kind of want to say as ridiculous
[02:02:29] as this might sound when it’s like, hey,
[02:02:30] we’d love for you to jump in. Yeah,
[02:02:31] apply, but also we’re still going to be
[02:02:33] here.
[02:02:34] So if it’s really not the right time,
[02:02:37] it’s okay. We’ll still hang out.
[02:02:39] there’ll be another opportunity to get
[02:02:40] some coaching. I don’t know about this
[02:02:41] deal. That’s like just being real. I
[02:02:43] don’t This is kind of crazy. 50% off,
[02:02:45] but coaching will still be here. Think
[02:02:46] Media will still be here because we’ve
[02:02:48] been here for well over a decade plus.
[02:02:50] So, my encouragement to you now that you
[02:02:53] know what stage you’re in, now that you
[02:02:55] know what I you even had a homework
[02:02:57] assignment. Some of you got a specific
[02:02:58] homework assignment. Go do it. And then
[02:03:00] I want you to come back to this video
[02:03:02] because it’ll be public. Come back to
[02:03:03] this video. Leave a comment saying,
[02:03:05] “Nathan, I did it. Nathan, I did the
[02:03:07] homework. Yes, I did.” whatever because
[02:03:09] Logan and I want to check up on you. So,
[02:03:12] leave a comment letting me know you did
[02:03:14] your homework and hopefully hopefully we
[02:03:16] get to see you on the other side inside
[02:03:18] of Elite. Hey, on behalf of Logan Think
[02:03:21] Media, this channel, Think Media podcast
[02:03:24] channel, subscribe. I would love to see
[02:03:25] you in an upcoming episode. But hey,
[02:03:28] whether it’s here in a future class or
[02:03:31] it’s inside Vra Elite at
[02:03:33] myviralvidecoach.com,
[02:03:35] I’m so stoked for you. We’re on team you
[02:03:37] and let’s do this
